Alabama-Ole Miss kickoff time, TV channel announced

No. 1 Alabama’s Week 5 home game against Ole Miss on Saturday, Sept. 30, will kick off at 8 p.m. CT and air on ESPN, the Southeastern Conference announced Monday.

The Rebels have posted a 2-1 record to begin the season, recently losing to Cal, 27-16, in Berkeley, Calif. Ole Miss will be on its bye week this before traveling to Alabama.

Alabama and Ole Miss will meet for the 65th time in a series that dates back to 1894. The Crimson Tide owns the all-time advantage 48-11-2. Alabama won the most recent meeting between the two teams, 48-43, in Oxford, Miss., in 2016.

The Rebels ended 2016 with a 5-7 (2-6 SEC) record in the final season of the Hugh Freeze era. Matt Luke is now Ole Miss’ head coach after serving as co-OC from 2012-16.

I will be able to watch the Vandy game.

seriously?!

i wanna know which one of the dummies at espsux thought it'd be a good idea to start a game that late. and yes, i know 8:00 isn't late, but when the game ends it'll be close to midnight.

so what genius came up with this idea?!

i really wish when they picked the times, the school had the right to say, "yeah, no thanks but we're gonna play at an earlier time."

sometimes (or actually, most times), those contracts only benefit the tv stations. they have WAY too much power when it come to things like this.

freakin' idiots!!!

I love the night games personally... Doesn't make me feel so bad about being wasted

I really just hate getting home at like 4AM, which is why I sold my Ole Miss tix. Now, back in the day, when I would party after a game, different story, as I would find a place to crash(preferably in a sorostitutes bed).

It's worse in the Eastern time zone. The game starts at 9 here.

Yep we live and work on eastern time....travel to T town for every home game.....so while this one means we can leave home a little later it makes for a very long day.....even with our RV parked and set up in Cottondale. The last late home game we tailgated all day...I was up for like 25hrs....
Not this time..... a nap at the RV is in order before heading to game.
Guess I am getting old ....But I still love it..Roll Tide

And we really can remember how things were and dont have to depend on the new right way by them changing history to be politically correct
