šŸˆ Auburn officials decide to retain Harsin

I don't see how he can make it past Monday... the train is too far down the tracks at this point. He ain't walking away though, and unless they can prove he had happy hours with the former cheer gal, they are on the hook for a mighty large buyout which the university can't afford and the boosters don't want to pay. They aren't going to be able fire him for cause for "being mean".
I think he’s gone before the end of this month, maybe by the end of this week. He’s toast.

Pathetic is what this has become, seems to be all manufactured. If so, imho it's just another nail in the coffin for college football in the long run.

Two more wins and none of this would have happened.

These are the same dipshits that extended Gus only to buy him out.
A lot to unpack in these fifty or more words. Pardon my meandering through your comments.

Two more wins and what wouldn't have happened? The relationship between Mason and Harsin breakdown? His clashes with the very people who continue to disparage him publicly? A locker room that's split; some in revolt? This is the same locker room that's been in turmoil for going on three years now—I know I've pointed to their problems on several occasions.

You're so right on pathetic. You can also drop the word "seems."

We've seen that group after Harsin dating back to the summer (and ironically here's where political analogies come into play.) No. Let me change that. It pre-dates this past off-season.

The first ad hominem attack? It's the deep south and it came as no shock when we began to see Scientology thrown around. Manufactured you suggest? They're Mormon.

This summer what was the news from Auburn? Has Harsin been vaccinated and how that'll effect the season. Where did we see the Montgomery paper, so say Josh Moon go? They followed the same paths we've seen a lot of journalist: attack the person because they weren't "towing their line."

Access to Harsin and his staff on football was likely at the root of a lot of the angst but as a whole we moved on to the fall season.

Affair.
Now, racism.

You suggest manufactured?

Have you ever used the term "High Machs" when referring to people you've dealt with, or say worked alongside? It most cases it's a compliment: they're people with high energy and a lot of charisma. What we're seeing at Auburn is led by that group, a anomaly of a clique of "High Machs."

Irony raises its head again ...

The crazy thing is that term comes from the word Machiavellian. And what they're doing done there? I don't think there's a better descriptor.

You and I have talked a lot and I'd say you know me fairly well. I'm certainly no ideologist and most of the time I'm in the corner of "that's your shit to fix." But damn, even without much sympathy or empathy that's some bullshit they're tossing around haphazardly. Racism charges in today's climate can easily lead to a person being unemployable in their industry.

This is Moriarty level evil.

Bingo

If the barn had beat Bama, then these same AU folks would be working on a raise for Harsin.

What you see is the highest levels at the Barn don't have a problem dirtying up their own program if that will get them to where they need to be. When Harsin returns from vacation there will be a meeting and he will reach a settlement and give back his keys. The barn is hoping for a split on that 18 million since they have to pay the salary of all these assistants as well as Harsin. You have to thank they already had given up on the 2022 season, so this isn't really that bad problem. Cleary, they have to fix it starting this coming week.

Dont know salary....
He made it through spring game....
But that was it.... something about a golf tourney he was in....

Her..."roll tide"
Him...."its rolling...baby.."....
Mike Price was the one that didn’t survive past Spring ball and infamous for his ā€œit’s rolling babyā€ comment.
DuBose affair came out before ā€˜99 season and it didn’t look like he would survive after the La Tech loss in B’ham. Went to The Swamp and beat Spurrier and then smoked him again in ATL. Got the extension and money back that UA had cut him following affair. The wheels then fell off the bus the following year with likely the most dysfunctional staff in UA history.
