šŸˆ Auburn officials decide to retain Harsin

Two random observations.

Nationally the go to guy for this news has been Marcello, not Sallee.

Hokanson is now playing both sides of the fence and I certainly understand why. It's also telling: he doesn't know what's happening down there either.

Try not to think about the cow pasture much but this one is interesting. Obviously this guy has a mess on his hands. Given the culture and pathetic nature of the Barn program it is actually possible this guy is trying to break through that dysfunction in a no nonsense way and those that are part of the problem (the family) do not think it needs to change. They really believe that the cult family is the Barner way.

I have come into a work situation in the past, task with the job of changing the culture and I will tell you it is very difficult. Those that made it that way are likely in positions of influence and if it changes they will no longer have that. They do not want to give that up and they will make a lot of noise. It takes the backing at the top of the food chain and he/she has to back the person trying to make the change.

I want the barner dysfunction to continue for years and it is always worth a good laugh to see their clownish culture on full display. I would love to see a Vile type of nosedive down on the cow pasture. Would be very entertaining to watch.

To me that reads "there wasn't an affair."

Harsin to Auburn is Taggart to FSU. In both cases new coaches inherited a mess.

Yeah, but Hardin hasn’t helped himself with some moves. From a racism standpoint, his defense can simply be he didn’t play favorites, with Bo as his first exhibit.

If Rane wins, they will go with someone known to him from past direct experience (Steele) or someone known for doing whatever it takes (Freeze). Steele turns 64 next month - but Rane will be 74 tomorrow, so maybe he doesn’t care about that. He wants to win AND control, but that’s one lesson that he hasn’t learned yet.

A type A person....highly sought...well respected....could find success with that job....
Like Saban.....just say...Iwill come...stay outta my business...
Desperate times call for desperate measures.... the power brokers realize...they couldnt hire andthen fire another....and have 3 HCsbeing paid ...and not working
Lots of danger in hiring another G5 or assistant...unproven on big stage

The power broker thing was damaging to bama fo years

I know ...hasnt worked at Tennessee....

The powers-that-be at Auburn will never….never….never…. completely turn over the reins to a HC.

We're having a day.

RECAP:

• Harsin says accounts of him mistreating coaches are "bullshit," which did little to assuage concerns that he mistreats coaches.

• Outgoing president Jay Gogue ("Docta Gooj") says university brass is reviewing "rumors and speculation" aiming to discern fact from fiction as it relates to Bryan Harsin's conduct.

• Some players have defended Harsin, some players have criticized Harsin.

• The Harsins (Bryan and Kes) are in Mexico.

NEW/NEW-ISH:

• The Forces Against Harsin are more steadfast than ever that they have a case to fire him with cause.

• Though there has been much pearl-clutching over nebulous allegations of personal misconduct, we're told no such allegation is part of The Forces Against Harsin's "case" against the head coach.

• The "case" revolves around Harsin's behavior as it relates to players and (former) coaches. In particular, some feel/assert that Harsin's behavior struck them as racist. We're told that claim is being investigated most rigorously. We're also told that Allen Greene met with a small group of football players this afternoon in connection with the claims of racism.

So they going to fire him based on feelings of racism not on the allegations of sex with a subordinate, which maybe harder to prove, especially if it didn't happen? That's rich coming from the school with least diverse student body in SEC. Their concern with treatment of minorities lasts from Sept to December for 3.5 hours on a Saturday afternoon. A hand-picked someone has already said yes to replacing him under these circumstances. Righting the ship will require "Wayne Hall" tactics. Trouble brewing in the SEC.

Most of our crappy society has been running off feelings for the last two years. Even longer for our institutions of higher learning.

If they want him gone they will come up with whatever the hot topic to get shit canned is going today… be it racism, inappropriate sexual relations, not following Covid mandates…etc etc etc…just insert and play your judgement to vilify today shit and you're good to go in todays society. Not saying he’s has or has not done any of the above, but if the PTB want him gone, it doesn’t matter if he did or didn’t.

They can fire him for any number of things. Their problem is they don’t want to have to pay him. If they haven’t produced enough evidence by now to fire him with cause, I don’t see them ever doing it (successfully).

Exactly. Justification is whatever they decide they want to put on him...if hes stupid enough to have done any of it, that's on him.

Pathetic is what this has become, seems to be all manufactured. If so, imho it's just another nail in the coffin for college football in the long run.

Two more wins and none of this would have happened.

These are the same dipshits that extended Gus only to buy him out.
