šŸˆ Auburn officials decide to retain Harsin

My first game was 10/17/1953, TSIO. 0-0 tie. Also attended the GT game that year. Ticket was a Birthday present. Guy offered me $20 for that $4 ticket just before entering Legion Field. Told him thanks but no thanks, I'm going to the football game. All of 12 years old, $20 would have been the most money I had ever had. Would have been like $200 today.

The only Whitworth game I remember attending was his last. 1957* Auburn.
You win....252

I feel like a teenager now

"This feels just like December 2019 all over again. There's a rush to whack the king, so to speak, without an actionable plan to replace the king. Having a full plan in place is Coup Design 101 — and Auburn simply doesn't get it."

Tate's dead on here. The incompetence the barner leadership shows gets more laughable each year. It's killing them they can't keep up with Coach Saban.

This is interesting because if they wrote a policy literally yesterday just to have a cause, then it's not going to hold up in the court. Whoever came up with this dumb idea needs to resign.

Secondly, why wasn't this policy in place years ago?

In the end, guess who wins? If Auburn was smart they would just ride out the year and deal with it in off-season.

All of this stuff going on with policy, allegations, etc., etc., etc., is nothing more than intimidation by the powers-that-be at Auburn. This tactic is used by law enforcement officials and people in power everyday. They’re only trying to get Harsin to cow and take whatever they offer or nothing if they can get away with it. However, it looks like they may have met their match.

My first was 10/11/1952 -- Bama 33 VPI [Virginia Tech] 0. But if you were 12 in 1953, you've got me on age by a couple of years. Not that I'm complaining.

I'm an old guy @252BAMA , but you and my Mom are the same age...

Would be cool to start a thread on this to capture when everyone saw their first game live.
9/18/76 SMU 56-3. I was friends in school with a kid whose parents had moved out of town to a farm in Chelsea. His Dad worked for either APCO or South Central Bell, took us to the game, premium corporate tickets. 50 yard line, just under the shade of the Legion Field upper deck. I sat one row in front of Mary Harmon Bryant, people dropping by to pay their respects, cheerleaders working through the pre-game crowd handing out the real wood and paper shakers to us. For an eleven year-old redneck country kid, I was in heaven.

My first live game was at legion field in 1983. I had sideline pass from John Bobo. (Grew up with him) Boston College won in a close comeback 38-31 Doug Flutie was QB. Rode the PTs restaurant chartered bus to the game from Mountain Brooke. Fantastic day except the score.
