🏈 Auburn hires Chizik

After UT went and hired Lane Kiffen.....I would have thought that Tubby's job was safe at that point. It was obvious no one was out there. Auburn should have waited another year......Oh well. Chizik will be yet another coach at AU that will be paid not to coach in a few years.

Pat Sullivan

One over looked name that never came into the picture. He has done a fantastic job at Samford. I always thought after his TCU job in training he would be head coach at Auburn.

Let's hope he re-thinks firing Bolt and brings him along!

Ya know Bolt has yrs of experience and did play under Dye.

I just fell on my keyboard laughing. WTH are they thinking? Wait....it's Barn....they weren't.

Guess those 70 people will protest again?

Roll Tide!

It seems VERY obvious to me that Chizik was a third tier hire.

I'll go as far as to say Pat Nix was higher on the list.

Chizik was probably 10th on a list of 7. lol
They will cover it up and put enough spin on the story to make you dizzy, but this was a last ditch hire.

Jacobs will claim the lottery at the presser, but "thinking people" know the truth. Even Barners know the truth on this one.

Kind of what I was thinking...this starts to look more and more like two people on the rebound after a bad break-up. Auburn admin & boosters are lookin' for luv in all the wrong places after severing the knot with Tuberville...this Chizik guy is straight from Paul Simon's hit "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover"...after the romance wore off of his first head coaching job at ISU he swoons during an interview with Auburn and rushes right into the arms of someone new that he thinks will help him forget how quickly his marriage wound up on the rocks...

*shakes head* It's the players and fans I feel for. I mean, they don't have any control over the decisions made by university leadership.

Nice post Laura but I don't feel for any of them.

No Control?.....empty seats and no donations will go a long way. Ask Phil Fulmer.

I don't wish ill on the players but may they serve as a warning. DO NOT GO TO AUBURN.

The fans can all go to h3!!. They can eat this and like it! Welcome back to where you deserve to be Auburn. THIS is the Auburn I have been waiting to show it's true face. Welcome back!

I'm mostly thinking of students, now that you mention it. I admit I don't feel sorry for boosters. But the 18- and 19-yr-old kids...I remember what it was like to be that age at a large state school...I went to Mizzou for a year (Go Tigers! Hehe.) Their football program was going through a long slump at the time. Nobody went to games. I was eager to experience the whole campus life thing, including football with lots of ra--ra--ra. Yeah, empty seats will eventually get the message across, but in the meantime, it still sucks for all those kids who have a limited window during which to live the college football experience.
