Dude, was that Jacobs? I've not seen a picture of him before but it sounded like him so I am assuming it is. Guys, he got ripped a new one without the courtesy of vasoline. That was horrific!

Dude was like, "I'll take Charlie Garner, I'll take Brady Hoke, hell I'll take Patrick Nix"! I think it was one of the news crew that said, "we tried to get rid of him earlier".

Did you guys catch the guy at the end? Couldn't quite make it out, but he kept saying something to the effect of, "10 tickets in 30 years out the door in 10 minutes".

I am seriously shocked that Auburn didn't make a strong push for Gil. I think he could have been a solid coach for Auburn. At least someone who could have inspired recruiting for a year or two.

I don't know if you saw my post above this or not but I commented on both of the fans as well. After reading the link it appears that the second guy said something to Jacobs about Tommy Tubberville. I have watched the video a couple of times and still can't make out what he said exactly.

I thought he said something like, "10 tickets in 30 years out the door in 10 minutes".

It sounds more like (according to the article) that he might have been referencing Tubbs's record and how he was "out the door" so quickly.

Not sure, but that was a very interesting video on the AU site.

The only way I can see this being a legitimate hire is if Jacobs was turned down by everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE else...

Is this really what the board at Auburn looked forward to when they fired Tommy Tuberville? This was the most unorganized, random coaching search I have ever seen. And to have it come down to this? This is the coolest thing since sliced bread cool8)

That 2-10 record is a bit deceiving though playing in the Big 12 and all!

I mean TEXAS, OKLAHOMA, and TEXAS TECH were really good this year!!! Too bad none of those 3 were on Iowa States schedule!

That's a little unfair. Iowa State had to play the mighty Rebels of UNLV and the Big 12 North powerhouse, Kansas State.

As far as recruiting goes, I think this is going to help Troy just as much as it helps Alabama. Perhaps we should just kick the Barn out of the SEC right now and give the Trojans their seat.

I read someplace on the internet that Turner Gil turned the job down.

It seems VERY obvious to me that Chizik was a third tier hire.

I'll go as far as to say Pat Nix was higher on the list.

Chizik was probably 10th on a list of 7. lol
They will cover it up and put enough spin on the story to make you dizzy, but this was a last ditch hire.

Jacobs will claim the lottery at the presser, but "thinking people" know the truth. Even Barners know the truth on this one.
