I keep hearing all this talk about playing 2 maybe 3 QBs this weekend......Like we will be so far ahead that there will be a lot of mop up duty... I think you guys are forgetting how good Wisc is. There backup RB to Melvin Gordon rushed for almost 1,000 yards last year......and he was the BACK UP! Nick said Wisc had one of the best Defenses of the year last year. I just don't like all this talk about playing 2-3 QBs. Makes it sound like this game will be a cake walk and i don't think it will. They lost to LSU by 4 points in there opening last year.....and should have won! They took the barn to overtime and barely lost to them at the end of the year and should have beat them. IDK....just nerves maybe....??

Wisconsin is teh suck. You'll see. But will win 9+ by virtue of playing in the Big Ten.

It'll be a nice résumé booster at the end of the season should we drop a game.

I know but the last few games of last year Bama has come out slow. I hope thats not the case this year.

i don't think playing 2-3 QBs for Bama is about how bad wisconsin may be but more about we're not sure who is actually going to be the dude at QB.

They have a good running game and i'm impressed with Clement's ability. If the big guys make holes for him, he will get some yards yall.

Their passing game is where they lack IMO. that may doom them in this one.

I look at it the other way. We will be playing 2-3 QB's because it won't be a blow out....

I think the fans are. I have no idea what the players or coaches are thinking. We (the fans) overlooked Ohio St last season, we overlooked Utah in the Sugarbowl, Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. We tend to think we're going to blow everybody out. Not saying that is a bad thing but I hope our coaches and players don't have the same mindset most of us have going into games.

Wisconsin is not nearly as good this year as years past. This will be a blowout. Wisconsin cannot match up physically on defense, or athletically anywhere besides RB and McEvoy.

The team will be ready though, for sure.

There is a segment of the Alabama fan base that undervalues every opponent. Most of the folks in this group became fans around '08 or '09. Sorry but that is the way I see it.

There is another that overvalues every opponent. I tend to fall into this group more often than not. I believe Alabama will win every game but I also look at ways teams can beat them also also.

Obviously CKS and others have intimated that they undervalued OSU last year so it is possible for that to happen. It also happened to some degree against Utah in '08 but I think there were other contributing factors there also.

If next week were OM game or another SEC game I might worry about the team a bit but with it being the first game, in JJ's stadium and against a team from the same conf that handed them their last loss, I look for them to be quite focused

I've been around long enough to experience the high tide and the rare low tide. I don't take ANY game lightly, even the Charleston Southern game (possible injuries that could occur more that the final outcome) is a game to pay attention to. Any time you open against another power 5, I don't think the team will take it lightly -and I know the coaches won't. My concern with Wisconsin is that they have a new head coach and may do a lot of unexpected things, although, it is highly likely that they will still be run-first-heavy.

Stave is listed as the starting QB. He is what he is and when they stopped running the ball inexplicably against LSU and started throwing it, that cost them the game last year. I did not watch the bowl game against the turds because theonly time I watch them is the IB so I don't know how they beat the turds other than the turds defense sucked balls.

If Stave is the QB and they beat us throwing the ball then a loss against Wisky will be the least of Alabama's worries this year.

I am confident our boys will be ready. Like already posted, I see another Michigan type game. Keep it close and just wear them down and gradually make them quit while maintains a 17-21 point lead. I could easily be wrong, but that's how I'm feeling about this.

I've been posting on a Wisconsin board for the past month, and Wisconsin is as follows:

Defense:
Solid unit all around, and they feel like their Dline is potentially very good, and most return to this unit. They return both outside LBs, and feel that they are solid. They lost both ILBs, and one will be a 5th yr transfer from Clemson and another new internal starter that they both believe to be solid as well. They feel like their front 7 is the strength of the D. In the secondary, nearly everyone returns. They have a lot of experience returning, but only one guy with elite physical ability - a Safety named Caputo. He will line up anywhere and is legit. The rest of the secondary is supposedly solid due to experience, but not elite physically. Overall, they should have one of the best defenses in the Big10.

Offense:
Their QB is a tall kid who has a nice arm, but he has been very inconsistent with his accuracy. They have virtually no demonstrable talent at WR, save one guy - a tall, kid - McAvoy (will also play a little Safety). Elite athlete, but he's all they got. Their number one RB is legit - Clements - but have question marks after him. They have 2 excellent receiving TEs, tall, big-body white boys who can play. They utilize the TEs and RBs A LOT in the passing game. The Oline is - surprisingly - a big question mark for this team, as they not only lost 3 guys to the league, but also the previous regime did not recruit as well as past regime for the past 2 recruiting cycles AND they have been bitten hard by the injury bug in fall camp all across the Oline.

Their Kicker is excellent and their punter is suspect.

In summary, their D is better than many will expect, especially up front, but their O has several question marks. Both coordinators are good.

Wisky aren't what they were last year. They are replacing 3 OL from last year and are already plugging in 2 redshirt freshmen backups in due to injuries. Defense suffered losses as well and injuries in camp have depleted their LB corps. Their strength lies in their secondary. This isn't the matchup the folks in Dallas envisioned when the contract was signed.

I don't think we are overlooking Wisconsin but may be undervaluing them. They may move the ball, a little, but I don't even think they'll score a touchdown. JMO.

I don't think the Wisconsin DL is very good, very big, or experienced.

It looks like they have at least 2 of 3 New starters, and maybe all 3 of their DL is new. Couple that with brand new ILBs, and that is a recipe for disaster.
