What would Alabama have been ranked with a bowl win last season?
At least one first place vote would have fallen the Tide's way—likely a few more than that.

It doesn't look like that game amounted to much as far as this year is concerned.

As we've discussed, that win did A LOT for OU. A quick glance at the point totals and you can see how much it would have changed the order of the top ten.

Of note: The top 25 doesn't have a mid-major—all 25 teams from Power 5 (including Notre Dame in the ACC, of course.)
 
But Terry, the loss did nothing to hurt Bama. Before the bowl game last year, I made the statement that the game's outcome would have nothing to do with Bama's ranking this year. Some disputed my comment. I was correct. My point has been made, so I'll let it go.

Meh...take a third of the AP voters, put them ranking OU where they should be (9-11 area) and the #1 votes would favor FSU. However, in total points? It'd be a lot closer.
