🏈 Anyone seen the new NC ring?

My SEC ring from the '89 season cost around $250-300 then. My dad wanted to buy one for himself and when I asked, that was what I was told. Mom put the kabash on that idea!
Can't blame Mom, can we? I'm guessing here but I'm thinking that someone making around $15 a hour today...that ring would cost them their entire week's paycheck.

I think you misinterpreted his post. @Che Boludo was referring to what is allowed on the cost of the rings by NCAA. To spend $4K on a player replica would be getting ripped. Now you may in fact buy one from a player later on for $4K.

I meant buy a real one from a player for that much and that's when he said you'didn't be getting ripped as they cost this.

Both my parents are retired teachers. So chances of $15 an hour were slim and none! About like my chances of winning that Powerball several weeks ago.

@TerryP, I recall going over to Rose Administration and seeing about possibly getting some financial assistance information. The lady asked what my parents did. I told her that they were both teachers. She exclaimed, "They make too much money! You wouldn't qualify!" My response. "Have you seen where I live? What my parents drive? Do you have any frickin clue how much a teacher makes?" I then left before she called Campus police!

If that is what was meant, it wasn't implicit, at least not to me. But I'm the slow kid, so my bad.

I interpreted it to mean that one could purchase a 2016 authentic championship ring set for 5k now as you were generally specific about the price range and it followed posts on replicas and cheap knockoffs.

Knowing that players have yet to receive their rings, I didn't put it together that you were "anticipating" the likelihood of finding a player's actual issued ring set at some point in the future to be available and have a 5k dollar mkt value. Hence my conclusion that you'd be getting ripped off vs. Actual value.

In any case...

I 1000 percent agree that some would pay that. But that is a personal valuation. I think that is way too high for this championship as it stands. It isn't the first CFP championship and there is no other real significance to the win outside of a Bama fans perspective that would see it hold such a high value. Again, that is my opinion, which with $1.50 may get you a cheap cup of coffee.

Apologies for any lack of clarity on my part. After I saw your strawman counter, I probably should have clarified. But, oh well...
