Drove across that bridge everyday for years.
There was a $1 toll to get on Coronado if you were a single person in a vehicle. Motorcycles and vehicles with two or more people didn't pay the toll and used the carpool lanes.
Often there was a motorcycle cop parked just behind a booth where the carpool lanes were and he'd catch people saving a buck. People got pretty creative, they'd put hats on headrest or put actual dummies in the passenger seat.
Accidents on the bridged sucked. And there were lots of jumpers who'd park there car at the top and jump.
