šŸˆ Anyone know about Ruggs III?

I'll try to summize @TerryP 's previous intuitions... He can correct me if I'm wrong

-McKinney a true coin toss to come back
-Tua slightly better than a coin toss to come back (ish?)
-D. Smith a solid lean to come back
-Ruggs a lean to come back
-Najee likely gone
-Wills likely gone
-Leatherwood stays (already proven)
-Moses stays (hopefully already proven)
@BamaBoyJosh

He's pretty much spot on with one exception. I'm more bullish on Tua than "slightly better than a coin toss to come back." Anyone, anywhere can always change their mind. That's not meant as a caveat; it is what it is.

That said, there are more than a couple of people who've proven to be correct about Tua who have shared they feel—with as close to 100% certainty as there can be—that he's returning.

I hate using the phrase "just let it play out" but that's about all there is to say. Just like your lady saying "you pick where to eat tonight" and then telling you "I don't want Mexican, or Chinese, or Italian, or anything ethnic" some things change within minutes. (It's still your choice on where to eat...and that's my PSA for today. šŸ™ƒ )

So, is this talk of a "really important meeting in NY" on Friday with medical people legit? And have we heard anything about it?

I'd have to do some research (insert google NY specialty medical centers) to tell you the name of the place. I've forgotten. The NY Specialty Clinic ... something akin.

That trip was organized, scheduled, and paid for by UA. It was a third opinion, if you will. The trip and consultation is carrying a bit of a misnomer. It wasn't an opinion that was sought to make a decision upon, but one to affirm the decision that had been made. I've seen people reference the trip in terms of "when he receives this evaluation, he'll make the decision." That's not the case from what I've learned.

Tua returning is what has made Xavier consider the same. McKinney has been weighing his options for a couple of weeks now based on Tua's decision. He's certainly not waiting on what they said in NY (which fits with what was shared a few days about about Dylan "being in XM's ear' about returning.

----

Personal opinion/observation. I've seen a lot of folks getting bits and pieces of news and then interjecting opinions based on that news. IE: He's headed to NY to see a doctor therefore he's waiting on that doctors opinion before he decides. That's not my understanding.

I do know there are more than a handful of rumors floating around about different kids that are just that ... rumors. Or, opinions being shared that are based on personal feelings about what he should do, or will do, and now what he wants to do.

Have I thrown enough dirt in the pool to murky up the water enough to cloud what you're seeing?

I a, very much in favor of those that those that are dedicated to betterment of the U of A football program will stay. The rest can go. I know nothing about football for sure but how #15 is a 1st round selection is kind of amazing. He's had some sacks when sent on a blitz but he is a poor tackler then again the entire defense Lber's and DB's fall into that group.

He led the team in tackles as a safety. Not really sure that sits with being a bad tackler.

I'd have to disagree there... He missed a few tackles this season, but in almost every game his quickness to the ball in run AND pass defense was impressive. IMO that's what makes him valuable... He's pretty good at both. The combo of closing speed, aggressiveness, instincts, and measurables are all there. He's a good looking prospect

I think of 1st rounders like Collins (ok first player in 2nd round), Ha Ha, Barron and Minkah. Did not seem like McKinney performed at those guys level. Not saying he isn't a good player just not to the 1st round level but what do I know.

Rumors going around that he's leaving due to baby on the way. not sure how legit it is.
Sometimes my curiosity will get the best of me and I'll try to track down the origin of a story. But good lord...I really don't want to know where that crap started.

A few weeks ago I made a comment suggesting folks ignore a lot of what's going to hit the fan. Yet, here I am amused with this one.

There are some fertile minds out there (no pun intended, or maybe.)

To a certain extent I agree there. I would like to add though, that those guys were playing with dudes who made their job a lot easier. And frankly against offenses that made their job a lot easier. For instance on the pass rush side - Our DB's were put under a lot more pressure to cover... Less lollipop interceptions, etc. Not to mention the lack of ground covered by the LB's and how that stretches out that back end.

Of that group I would put him in that HaHa type of terrirotry... Certainly not dominant but very good at covering ground with high level instincts. And I think if Haha were on this season's D, they would have been very comparable.

With the number of guys who have had baby mommas over the last 10 years or so it always sounds plausible for players. Someone who is as quiet about things as Ruggs (average fan knows little of nothing outside his play) and fans can easily believe it is possible.

I could be wrong, but seeing Ruggs III hanging with Mack Wilson on Instagram has me thinking Mack is in his ear to go Pro. Sees him driving his yellow BMW, probably saying they told him to stay as well yet he flourished as a rookie. Wouldn't be shocked if he left at this point. Justmy opinion after a few Instagram posts.

Ruggs is amazing and obviously getting him back would be huge. Just wondering if his decision would impact Tua's...

But ultimately, WR is the last position I'd be worried about if D. Smith is indeed returning. Smith, Waddle, Mechie would be plenty lethal. And I'm there sure are some younger cats waiting in the wings... Along with Shavers.
