🏈 And so it begins.....

The lock out stops all, IF it happens. No coach or player is going to say they plan on leaving right now anyway. All of this is speculation at this point in the season....nobody except the people involved know what they will do and most of them really have no idea at this point. Bama players could leave, coaches could leave. It is the same with Auburn....you will know when the season is over with.

Duder, what you posted is nothing more than "coach speak". They are going to say things to ease any tension that might arise if the rumor mill gets going. If the money is right and he is ready, no one will know until it gets announced at the next school. It is all premature speculation anyways so be proud that your OC is getting some attention. It could be worse. He could be getting fired.

agree, I can't tell how many times an owner of a team says they stand behind their coach and then weeks later.....wham! hell, take Saban as the perfect example for this speak you talk of ;)

at the end of the day, talk is cheap. when money is thrown around alot of things change.

Ha Ha, been there too. Cheers to you, Tony Franklin!

I didn't mean it as a shot toward you or referencing Franklin. We simply don't know anything until he pops up on the tv doing a presser announcing his new gig. I'll throw this one out there at you; Fraudchione when he bolted to A&M. It happens to us all.

I've seen Malzhan for years. He was already on TV all the time because his HIGHSCHOOL team was amazing. We only get high school football on Friday nights here, but we heard about them on other days too. No way he stays an assistant for long. Arky screwed him over by offering jobs (OC) to him and then giving stipulations afterward (new co-OC)...that is probably the only reason he went to Tulsa so soon. I was terrified when he was at Arky because I like them just where they are...mediocre...and knew he could turn them around. Maybe Gus stays one more year at Aubie, but I doubt it and if they *cringe* win the NC, the only way to keep him will be firing Chiz. JMHO.

I think he stays one more year. He gets a very healthy pay raises after this season, coaches one more year and bolts. My guess is they will promote Trooper Taylor to OC--that will be about the only way to keep him around. Jay Jacobs said he has a plan to keep his assistants around for several years but I don't think anyone expected the immediate turn around Malzahn pulled off at Auburn. Hopefully Trooper is learning!

No I didn't take it as a shot at all. I'd much rather have an OC that I have to worry about leaving because he's talented versus having to fire an OC mid-season because our HC doesn't have the balls to make the BBQ-boys coaching staff support the new offensive regime. Does my hatred for Auburn's old position coaches show? If not, I will say it--I hate the position coaches under Tuberville except Gran. They were a disgrace to offensive coaching.
