šŸ’¬ An off week, off topic BS thread. Do you call the credit card holder? Call the place you bought something from? Do you NOT call anyone, at all?

Scenario:

Plaintiff: Walmart.
Charge: $170 and some change.

Defendant: Discover.

Judge: You in this case. Me, thinking about this whole thing and chuckling a bit.

Saturday before last I charged a little over $170 on stuff from Walmart. (If you didn't know, I like their delivery service. It's the best $100 you'll spend.) I put the charge on my Discover. This IS sports related. There were things in that order I use on game days. Toilet tissue is an example. I have it all.

Now. Understand. I pay off my cards at the end of every month; sans one. So, this morning I'm following my normal routine. Discover is due on the 1st. I know what's due this month. Not to the penny but to the dollar. I pull up Discover and its $220 "short." That's $170 charge? It ain't there.

I looked at my W+ account. Charged, that day according to the receipt, to that card. BUT, no charge to the card and its been 11 days. No hold. No pending. Nothing.

So, where are you in this scenario?

Days of Our Lives. (We do have a little fun on that forum if you haven't looked.)

I would call Discover first and see what they have to say.
Next, I would call Walmart and get their input.
If they say they don’t have an order for that or Discover has nothing he you’re good in the Karma department!

I had that once, called everyone I could think of and nothing so I let it go. 2 months later it showed up.

Right...generally a company doesn't become a mega company by losing transactions....
It will in all probability...show up...computer glitch

It's ironic thinking about people not getting food because a card doesn't work and I'm getting food and the card ...

Weird world.

Side note: A church down the street has a box outside that you can leave food inside of. Do you guys see that in your area? It's like those little book exchanges you see on TV...

That is wierd....there are some things that happen...that are unacceptable in our country...regardless of political affiliation...

Of course in Tennessee. Our churches always provide any family that needs food. With food... grocery store does too.
The way it should be. ....

Yeah, I see that around here. At times I have needed it and also have put it back too.

It's a "gig" with me. When I buy groceries I get things I can drop in the box. It's not expensive stuff; but it works if it's meeting a need. IE: I put pasta's, grits, and things along those lines like oatmeal. It ain't much on the dollar menu. A 2 lb bag of grits will feed someone well.

Don't get this wrong. That's a staple here right now. It has been for years. Outreach, I'd say, is a staple of the tri-country community. Hugo still has its impact here.

Another off note...

There's a Korean church about a half of a mile from the house. They have these Saturday free breakfast deals several times a year. Good food. Broken English. Live music. You know the tune, not the words.

I have no idea what they'll do. I'll bet ya there's a food give away coming soon.

(Out of the 120 vehicles or so they have on a Sunday morning, over 100 are SUV's. Let your mind wander and ask why.)

I am sure people of SC are of that kind. One thing solid about us southerners.

VFWs also....these f**king politicians will let country go to hell but the people...will...do...all they can. ...except vote these assholes out of office....if only ...they ..and staffs...werent getting paid

120 SUVs...Tennessee would be 120 pickups...lol. Most would be old and have someone jumping them off when they were ready to leave...

We do, its called a blessing box. People drop off non-perishable food if they would like to donate or pick up items if needed. Its stocked a couple of times a week.

@TerryP I cant remember to ask my son about his TV provider. I will text him now.

That's one of my favorite bars. I'm not a vet...other than knowing all of those folks that are in there. Literally, been given key cards to get in dozen's of times on the weekends just to eat their cookouts. I haven't been drinking this year but I've been in there about every week; more than once a few times.

Great felt.

I got this a couple of months ago. I really enjoy ordering food and just waiting for it to come to the house. I like that about if you are missing any item Walmart will refund you within an hour, if you get something extra, you keep it.

It's that Karma thing. I wondered if anyone would say...
I would prefer to make another purchase and give it to a food bank, women's or veteran's shelter, etc to cover the karma. I don't want to spend an hour on the phone with someone I probably can't understand to try to resolve an issue I didn't cause. If the charge shows up a month later at least I helped someone in need.

Most of the time they're good for decent food, moderately priced drinks and some great stories/ lies. Hit them pretty regularly on our travels.
