Just win and it will not matter. It will not be easy but 3 losses? The stupid loss to OU may be the downfall for the 2nd year in a row especially with the narrative of the teams struggles down the stretch. Lets hope it does not come down to that.

Do you think a 2 loss Miami would jump us if we lose in the SECCG since they don’t even play in their conference CG? If a team is in the CFP prior to the extra game they earned, why penalize them if they lose that extra game? Why should a team benefit that didn’t have/get to play the extra game? I think losing the conference CG is irrelevant and winning it is only useful for seeding, as far the CFP is concerned. The committee likely doesn’t view it as a 13th game, like you are seeing it. Should the loser of every conference CG get penalized in the CFP?

I just think if you want to control your own destiny and believe you are NC contender then win the games that are put in front of you regardless of the situation otherwise you are leaving it into someone elses hands. I know many think my thinking is old school and maybe even misguided but I think it is a mindset the team and coaches needs to have. Will they get it done? It will be hard for sure but if you do it there will be no doubt.

You mentioned opting out as an option, I do not believe a team should opt out if that is how the conference is structured until you change it. The flip side, do not lose 2 other games before you get to the SECCG. I do understand your point about Miami not playing in a conference championship game. Same as ND. I just do not want to get in losing and needing someone in a conference room debating your worthiness. This is what bubble teams have to do and Bama should not be bubble team. We used to have this conversation in basketball for years until Oats came in and changed that mindset. Thank goodness he did. Same thing CKD needs to establish within his program. Certainly where Bama football expects to be. Obviously we are where we are in year 2 of CKDs tenure so it is still early,

Making it to the SECCG is a huge deal, and some are viewing it negatively. We think we’re the best conference in football (even though B1G has won the last 2 NCs), so making the CG should be celebrated. I guarantee you the team and coaches are celebrating this opportunity.

To me it is not about being fair or not fair which is why I did not answer that question.... When Bama does what it is supposed to do, what other teams do is a don't care. Take care of our own business on the field. Bama should not lose to FSU and OU if they do not want to put themselves into this position that requires a stupid committee member to decide their fate. They can still do that this weekend.
