🏈 GAME THREAD 🏈 Rivalry Week: NCAA / SEC Games of the Week

BTW @Brandon Van de Graaff

Getting up at my normal time I wasn't shocked to see some of you guys online when Bama was tipping off at midnight, my time. Now, when I got up yesterday (FRI) you were online chatting. That was around 1AM. When I crashed out for the night last night, you were here, chatting. When I get up to start Saturday, you are here, chatting.

I like it. Dont' get me wrong. But I thought my sleep patters were "unique."

Ha... I'm up until midnight most nights... have 4 teen girls in the house tonight though that'll be up until at least 3 or 4 I'm sure, so it isn't completely quiet yet. I'm about to call it a night though... our dog will start to get pissed at me if I don't go to bed soon because he waits up on me. LOL

I believe it's a major conflict of interest. How can you have a committee chair who is also looking at hiring one of the coaches of the teams he's in charge of placing and seeding in the playoffs?

For sure it is. The entire thing is one big conflict of interest. They obviously use the BCS formula even though they'll never publicly admit to it, so may as well just go back to it and do away with the committee.

My sleep pattern is terrible. My doctor wants to do a sleep study.

It sucks looking at the noon slate and only seeing three games; none of which I'd consider must see TV.

Miami v Pitt?
OSU v Mich?

I'm left with UofSC and Clemson.

Here's hoping for at least some good football.

I know it's a really difficult job to have to defend some of the stuff and the more games that are played, the more things gets canceled out like head-to-head... but Yurachek is in way over his head. He should pass it off to someone else.
I've thought this ever since I've heard his reasoning for rankings. He seems to be twisting narratives to fit certain things out of the Playoffs but then he changes those narratives so much it's been lost in translation what the exact rules are for the committee and their standards. I've felt the last two years the committee has had some WEIRD standards and they've gotten hung up on some rather odd specifics (EXAMPLE: Rushing Yards this year for Alabama) that is a really weird stat to be worried about, considering there are air raid offenses in CFB a lot of the time. Should we penalize Oklahoma for Total Yards? There's so many random stats it gets confusing. I'd rather they stick to SOS, SOR, Wins vs Ranked, and Losses and not get that far into the weeds. I think it's causing the narrative and point to be sort of lost by the current committee

Looks like Clemson just sealed the win over SC with a pick 6. Dabo pulled it out. Man, Beamer was all the talk to start the season, and they actually played us really tough, but they’ve had an abysmal season there in Columbia.
