This Ravens vs 49ers game has been making me pitch a tent. Fantastic defense so far by these two teams. Both have two of the best linebackers in the league, along with Greenlaw and Queen(who are great players as well). Great secondaries, and both their pass rushes have been dominant so far tonight.

Alabama’s senior NFL player waived by Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos waived safety Kareem Jackson on Monday, a Christmas transaction that took Alabama’s longest tenured alumnus off an NFL roster.

Jackson was fined by the NFL four times for unnecessary roughness in the first six weeks of the 2023 season. Twice the fines stemmed from penalties called on the field.

The NFL fined Jackson $14,819 in Week 1, $19,669 in Week 2, $11,473 in Week 3 and $43,709 in Week 6.

In Denver’s 35-33 loss to Washington on Sept. 17, Jackson was penalized and ejected for a hit on Commanders tight end Logan Thomas on a touchdown reception with 1:47 left in the first half.

With Jackson off the Denver roster, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Julio Jones becomes Alabama’s senior NFL player. Jones started his NFL career in 2011.

My brother and I were talking yesterday about longest tenured Bama guys in the league. Jackson was who we guessed, followed by Julio. My brother said Rolondo has indicated he plans to try out for some teams next season. That surprised me. At his age and out of the sport for so many years, that’s a long shot.

The Houston Texans (8-7) have claimed veteran safety Kareem Jackson off waivers from the Denver Broncos (7-8).
