| FTBL Am I the only one who thinks Alabama got the biggest shaft?

I bet Utah's fan base would have traveled better if it had been selected to play in the Fiesta Bowl.

For reference, we took around 50,000 to the 2004 Fiesta Bowl. However, the TV revenues play a lot into the decision, and OSU/TX is simply a better draw.

Trust me, a lot of us were hoping for the Fiesta as well. It would probably have been financially doable (drive vs. flight, stay with friends, etc.). New Orleans, not so much.

A Texas vs Bama mathup would of been the best TV revenue draw besides the NC. A Big 12 and SEC matchup for bragging rights for both conferences, not to mention two traditional schools. Would of also loved to finally beat Texas, which we haven't done...yet.

Hmm, never would have thought CoachUrbanMeyer was an Alabama fan.

You didn't hear him during the ESPN bowl selection special?

He said "Alabama is not a good team, they are a GREAT team."

He also acknowledged that they were beat up after last nights game.

As much as I hate to admit it, both Urban and Tebow have been class acts whenever they have been interviewed lately. Both of them have gained my respect for sure.
I am proud that we have restored the Bama/Florida rivalry and done it with class. I think both teams will be seeing a lot of each other in the future.

FWIW, his final coaches poll ballot was

UF
OU
UA

Floridas over all skill and speed showed up in the 4th quarter....their depth killed us. Urban knows he will see Bama again and that they will only improve.

Meh...

I see it along the lines of youth and we don't have all the players we need to get yet.

Hightower, given another year, wouldn't have taken the bad angle he did which ended up resulting in that facemask penalty.

Another receiver who can get open opposite Julio would have helped a lot!!

That was basically what I meant. They just had over all more talent/experience on the field. That penalty hurt. Bama had their chances and just did not execute.

Javy catching the ball at the 4..nvm not even gonna start up about it lol

I think it would have done well, but saying it would have a better TV draw that Tx vs Ohio State isn't something I can't agree with.

The fact is, the Fiesta is liable to get better TV ratings due to it's Monday night slot (no NFL that day) and both teams are well respected around the nation with football fans.
