man, some of you fans make me laugh.
On one hand, you guys are complaining that we aren't in the big game as we have one loss.
On the other hand, you are giving Utah shit for going undefeated and having a less than desirable schedule.
Going undefeated is hard to do and you deserve some props for doing it in my opinion. Being undefeated in any conference is an achievement.

Bama fans, I understand your sentiment...
I don't take offense to your statements about playing Utah. Frankly, if you were matched up with the likes of Oregon State or a Cincinnati (both from BCS conferences), you would be saying the same thing about their teams. Ute fans (like myself) have more to issue with the BCS and the lack of a playoff then we do with most anything else.
Additionally, I would like to apologize for any of the so-called Ute fans that have made ass-hats of themselves on your board. I'm not a fan of the stereotype jokes about where people live, frankly I've been on the end of it from others as a Utah fan. Hell, I lived in Utah and now in S. Carolina, I've heard it all.
A lot of Ute fans have a proverbial chip on our shoulder about respect from the traditional powers and their fan-bases. It's something we as a program we've worked hard trying to earn and this game (if we happen to play you), we'll be a major test to show the rest of the nation who we are.

I second that notion BAMAFSTBACK.and im sure our players are feeling pretty much like we all do today.BUT i can bet one friggin thing when they suit back up for the utes somebodys gonna pay .as we all know by now CNS does not like to lose.as told by ms.wolfson toward the end of the auburn game.as he screamed to his players .well we all know what he screamed.And he will have this young team chewing bullets when they run out of the locker room in new orleans .there want be no close game they want be no pity for the UTES .and as for as someone on there site saying we are giving there players good locker room material for motivation .GREAT bama dont believe in that chyt. One memory of this year sticks out in my mind of all the games we played .As they showed our players on the sideline when tiffen had kick blocked against LSU there wasnt no hands slapping the ground or heads shaking ,but guys strapping there helments on and goin out and finishing what they came to do for CNS and the BAMAnation .Theres a saying that goes I MAY HAVE STUMBLED BUT I HAVE NOT FALLEN,I LOST THE WAR BUT NOT THE BATTLE.Respect is earned and IMO this years team earned mine and "they will bite there tongues off before they will admit it" a hellava lot more people in this state and the nation ROLL TIDE ROLL

Yeah I know OSU has stunk it up. I'm thinking a match up with Texas would be the best situation. I'm just more aggravated with the tone of a certain UTE fan. My over all mood is not helping. I should probably take a day or two away from the computer before I attempt conversation on the bowl game.

We've all experienced this spot in the limelight when it comes to the post season. This is their second dance there for most of their fans.
2004 was a special year for them capped off by their BCS invitation and win over Pittsburgh. Pitt isn't what one should consider as an accurate measure of BCS competition, especially that year. (8-4, only played 3 teams with winning records in '04...beat BC and WVU, lost to UConn)
They are fired up, and they are talking a little smack on their different forums. It'll settle down in the next few days...you know the tone of this forum...if all one wants to do is talk smack it won't be on the football forum for long.

I just want to say that I hope the Ute fans realize that not ALL Alabama fans are elitists. I for one, am proud of our team's 12-1 record and glad that our team will be playing Utah in the Sugar Bowl. Of course I would be happier if we went undefeated and had a shot at the national title, but hey, we lost the SEC Championship fair and square and we can't cry about it. Our record is now 12-1...and I'll take that any day over Auburn's 5-7 record. So i'm not complaining. Bring on the Utes, I believe it will be a good game.

Im not mad we aren't playing in the BCS title game. I feel like we are getting a matchup in a bowl game that not even the Sugar Bowl people truly want. There is an elite echelon in Div 1 football and Bama is in it. I want to see them play someone like that. Utah fans feel the same way. They know they would rather play an Alabama or Texas than play Ball State or Boise State.Crimsonblood82 said:

all i'm saying is that i have a hard time getting excited about Utah. i mean... does anyone on this board even know anyone from Utah? what is in Utah besides a lake with some salt? i was hoping for a game against one of the biggies... Texas, USC, Penn St. etc... that's all.
