Holloway usually is the one taking these shots. However when we start having a little ball movement, there's more rhythm in the offense and we can find a man with his feet set. We were up 16-7 and immediately missed five straight because of poor shot selection. Withinn minutes, it was a 14-0 run.
I think the offense needs to be adjusted to where we only take early 3s if they find an open man. Oats usually wants a shot within the first five seconds. I think it needs to be an automatic look at the rim first, get a paint touch, and then swing it around the perimeter.
I don't think Oats wants players just chunking it up for 3 because he wants a lot of shots from the perimeter. He wants the most efficient shot, which analytically is an open 3 or around the rim.
