🏈 Alabama Notebook: Peek to play through pain

If I were to try to rank my concerns on offense, Peek's injury would be very close to the top if not at the top. Hate, HATE to hear he's still dealing with it (although I can't say it's shocking or unexpected.)

Notice Greg graduates today? to Greg today!

here I was thinking he was gonna be the #2 guy behind Julio. maybe he can man it out like Julio apparently did since the Georgia game with a hernia.

This is AWESOME! its always cool to see athletes graduate early in my opinion.

side note...I heard that Tebow only has one class this semester to graduate.

Congrats to Zo Washington as well, being the first to graduate in his family is a huge deal.

Same situation for Colin as any other player. He'd file an application and wait and see. He might be a little gun shy on NCAA appeals...

I always wondered if that was the case (gun shy) with Brodie Croyle. I have analyzed and interpreted the rule like one would with a Bill Clinton statement. No one will ever make me believe that Brodie Croyle was not eligible under the rule.

Brodie had it offered by the football staff, he chose not to apply.

Just a thought you've stirred...

'Meco, LeRon, and several others from those classes have been in Tuscaloosa and around the team since their departure. I can't say I've heard of Brodie being back.

So he WAS eligibile. Of course I knew that all along. But all I remember seeing or hearing was that he would not get it so they were not going to apply.

I'd have to go back and look at what year it was he got hurt very early. At that point, the medical 'shirt rules were a bit different than they are today. Same with the normal redshirt rules I believe.

Didn't he get hurt the second or third game of the year...maybe in '04?

It was the third game(Western Carolina) of 2004.

Rule read, "could not have played in more than 20 % (rounded up to the nearest whole number) of the teams regular scheduled games to be eligible.

There were 11 games scheduled that year. 20% of 11 is 2.2. 2.2 rounded up to the next whole number is 3. Three is not more than 3. Four is more than 3! He did not play in 4 games! He played in 3 games, therefore he was eligible.

not a knock to Peek, but i'm really more excited about Preston Dial. I think he may be one of the offensive surprises this year. the kid doesn't appear to be able to drop a pass.

i hate that Peek is going to continue to run on that foot like that. He is signing himself up to have future trouble with it.
