šŸˆ Alabama-Michigan kickoff set for 7 p.m. and to be televised by ABC

Hopefully you're not talking about the Auburn game when they came back in the second half to win the game, that was a heartbreak.

That's pretty funny they didn't find it humorous to switch it too the National Championship unless they were also closet LSU fans and were mad Bama lost in regular season to them but beat them in the NC.

No, it wasn't the '10 game.

I used to have a part of that bar so many there know me. I'm not sure who it was but I did hear someone warn them about trying to get into a debate with me on football. It was something along the lines of "it'll be a losing argument, better not go there." And believe you me, I don't talk about Bama unless someone brings it up in conversation. I don't have to...anyone that knows me, KNOWS me when it comes to the Tide.

I've had my conversations. Most of them ending about the same...you'd laugh, but they seldom do. Hell, I have one guy (a real nice guy as well) that's an Auburn fan and he hasn't spoken to me since November. He started smack Weds. before the game this past season and I asked if he could name more than two coaches on their team. If he could, I told him I'd be glad to talk about the game. If not, get back to me when you can.

It's not the first time I've said that to one of their fans in this area...and I've yet to have a conversation further than that point. One told me a few weeks ago that Brad Van Loftlen. Bless his heart. I had to walk away I was laughing so hard.

Brian VanGorder and Scott Loeffler = Brad Van Loftlen. Geez... :smiley-give-me-beer

Ahh I'm just the opposite, idk why but Kirk just reminds me of Gruden, rambling on and repeating everything ever single week. "That's the best play if I've ever seen one" lol.

Kirk is one of the best. The guy knows what he's talking about, conveys his opinions and thoughts in a very coherent way, and doesn't play favorites. I seriously have no idea where you get the whole "says the same thing" every week from. :suspect:

I like Kirk. Now Brent did russle some feathers with his forget the Bear comment, but I think he is the ultimate in professionalism. Danielson knows his stuff too. Now for his buddy, I think his best has passed him by.

Yeah, I like Danielson also. Vern was very good in his day, but the past few years he almost seems that he is a little drunk when he is on the air. One thing that scares me a little though is that it will probably be Tim Brando who replaces him if/when he retires or is replaced.

Not a fan of Danielson at all bc he talks all the time. Poor ole Vern can hardly get a word in bc of Danielson. Give me Kirk any day over Danielson but I'd really like to have Keith Jackson doing the play by play with anyone as his partner. Whoa nellie! :biggrin_blue:

That fear is unfounded, I believe.

You're thinking he's leaving the main desk and dropping down to the broadcast booth. That would be a demotion.

When CBS lets Vern ride off in the sunset they'll probably be looking to hire from outside their own ranks.

I think Danielson drowning out Vern is a good thing. :biggrin_blue:

You may be right Terry, all I know is that Brando and Finebaum are friends, and Finebaum has talked about Brando being Vern's likely successor.

Idk, I'm just a fan of Todd Blackledge and Brad Nessler....I also like the ones (I believe it was Charles Davis and someone else) that did the 06 National Championship with Texas vs USC.

Todd and Brad are pretty good.

Honestly, the talking heads of football don't bother me at all. The only one that has ever got on my nerves is Pam Ward. Heck, got tired of her yesterday during softball.

O god yes 110% agree. Has a blend of tomboyish and kept on reminding everyone that Alabama lost to Florida last year and in 09 :disgust:

With Ward, it's more delivery and voice/tone inflection.

That said, I do believe anyone who follows softball already knows the SEC hasn't won a WCWS. If not, give it five minutes.

Todd and Brad are some good ones as well. I loved watching and listening to Gottfried and Franklin too. Put those two beside Jackson and Broyles and you had the 2 best best tandems in football broadcasting.
