Loved Tony Nathan. I saw the Last Iron Bowl with Shaun though and he was a beast at that game, and I even High Fived him LOL. But Nathan was a great player. For me, it was Ogilvie and Nathan.
Take another look, it’s been a minute but I seem to recall him making every tackle on kick offs. That's weird. I just watched that game last night for the first time in many years.
"Teague's got the ball!" - I still get giddy when I see that play. And the one of his hi-stepping pick6. Such a great game for him.
Hard to narrow it down for sure. There were some less heralded players who really put themselves on the line for the team, which went a long way to explain how they got playing time. I really enjoyed Paul Ott Carruth, Glen Coffee and Roy Upchurch.
Oh yeah, I think that was Porter, their All-American safety. Hard to believe we beat them with Bo playing. What a beast. Team effort.Play that sticks out to me was Carruth running over the boog and scoring in 1984 aU vs UA game.
Thats how the Iron Bowl always was, never knew who would win that game unless Shula was coaching Bama.Oh yeah, I think that was Porter, their All-American safety. Hard to believe we beat them with Bo playing. What a beast. Team effort.
Absolutely was Porter!! Wrong way bo game….Oh yeah, I think that was Porter, their All-American safety. Hard to believe we beat them with Bo playing. What a beast. Team effort.

You are forgetting one of our local guys that shared the same backfield with Major....Steve Whitman. Hell of a FB!For me, it was Ogilvie and Nathan.
I just saw your post after I responded to @UAgrad93 ! Steve was a player from Huffman back in the day when they never won more than a just a few games a year (don't think much changed except for a couple of years). When we were kids, a player coming out of Huffman and then playing for the Tide was a HUGE deal.Really good Defensive #'s from that team. I think I would ahve been int he 10th grade around that time, Steadman Shealy was the QB. Looking at this site it shows Steve Whitman as the RB that had the most carries and yards but I remember Ogilvie but not Steve.
