| FTBL Alabama Football History

That's weird. I just watched that game last night for the first time in many years.

"Teague's got the ball!" - I still get giddy when I see that play. And the one of his hi-stepping pick6. Such a great game for him.
Take another look, it’s been a minute but I seem to recall him making every tackle on kick offs.

Hard to narrow it down for sure. There were some less heralded players who really put themselves on the line for the team, which went a long way to explain how they got playing time. I really enjoyed Paul Ott Carruth, Glen Coffee and Roy Upchurch.

Play that sticks out to me was Carruth running over the boog and scoring in 1984 aU vs UA game.

Really good Defensive #'s from that team. I think I would ahve been int he 10th grade around that time, Steadman Shealy was the QB. Looking at this site it shows Steve Whitman as the RB that had the most carries and yards but I remember Ogilvie but not Steve.

I just saw your post after I responded to @UAgrad93 ! Steve was a player from Huffman back in the day when they never won more than a just a few games a year (don't think much changed except for a couple of years). When we were kids, a player coming out of Huffman and then playing for the Tide was a HUGE deal.

Man... This game absolutely changed me as a fan. This was my first NC as a person who played some football by then & rooted on the team that season. And to beat The U in the way that we did it, especially with Toretta as the Heisman winner. Purely magical ! ! !

National Championship #13
