Cool that they named one after him but it is not like they are creating a new scholarship, still can only give the same amount each year. The university is just putting his name on an existing one and getting people to donate to it, so the university will come out on top, saving that money. Now if they did it like the Bryant scholarship, where it goes to non student athletes that are the children of former players, different story.

While I'm not a fan of symbolism over substance, I appreciate the symbolic gesture here. Coach Newton didn't make me a fan of the game but did broaden my appreciation of how it's played.
