💬 Conecuh Ridge Distillery, makers of Clyde May’s Whiskey, have announced partnerships with Auburn, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Troy Athletics

A whiskey that’s synonymous with Alabama will be hard to miss this fall, thanks to a partnership with three major football programs.

Conecuh Ridge Distillery, makers of Clyde May’s Whiskey, have announced partnerships with Auburn Athletics, the Alabama Crimson Tide and Troy Athletics. What that’ll mean for fans:

Alabama – Sampling opportunities (for 21-and-up fans) at select home games, a process that will continue during the 2026 baseball season; radio spots during the “Hey Coach” football and basketball shows; and a presence at “special donor events.”

Just another Indiana mass produced whiskey, for now, not terrible. Following a business model of many others - adopt or concoct a story, market it and buy it from a mass distiller. Then, if it gets legs, build a distillery and take production in-house. That's what they're doing now.

What do you normally drink? Not sure Clyde May would make my list of decent whiskey.

I've been wanting to do something like that for years ... never looked into deeply. The brand name? "Responsibly."

Two things:

Did we see another brand do something similar five or so years ago? I know there was something; can't pull the memory. (I'm not talking about Maker's Mark bottle, FWIW.)

I ran into this recently. I'm curious.

I think the market is softening a good bit. Be a lot of these type distilleries that don't make it over the next few years.
I don't want back in that industry. Food, with a small bar is one thing. A bar, with food? Yeah, over that one. It was fun on game days!

Just one of those idle thoughts about the brand name ... "Drink Responsibly" would likely raise some eyebrows.

Stopped at a brewery the other day and thought of you. It was Sanctuary brewery and in an old church. I didn't go in.
