| FTBL AJ may wear Auburn colors for BCS. Thoughts?

I'll drink to that RolllTide!!!. I listened to Bama games on the radio sitting on my dad's lap 60 years ago in Mobile, Alabama. So I am a die hard Bama fan. However, having served 30 years in the Air Force and retiring in Pensacola Florida, I can support my stepson's favorite team, Florida State. Truth is, my second favorite team is any team playing Auburn. Guess I'll be doing the Seminole Chant on January 9th.

You and me both! If the barn was playing the Taliban, I'd put on a burka and yell, "AIIY-yIyIyiyIyIyIyIyIyIyIy!!!" all game long.

Nor will I wear orange and blue. However, I do wish Auburn well for two reasons. They are from Alabama and I think the FSU QB skated on the rape charge. The way I look at it, you can cheer for whomever you want. Just don't ridicule those with opposing opinions . . . like the LSU fans do.

I can't worry about what Auburn fans do. I have enough to deal with here in LSU country. They pull for their team and whoever is playing Alabama. Obnoxious, thy name is LSU.

After some of the things I have read regarding the auburn love that is coming from the Bama side, I weep for the future of this "rivalry". I PROMISE that they will NEVER pull for us. Nor would I want them to. That is not what a rivalry is about. I'm not talking about AJ's decision, because he is going to marry a girl who was a big auburn fan LONG before she met him. He will have to make compromises now and going forward as far as that goes. I'm talking about this new generation of Bama fan who for whatever reason, does not seem to even want this to be a rivalry anymore. This "new wave" of Bama fans who probably weren't even born the last time Tennessee was any good, yet they want to declare them our biggest rival instead of auburn. I don't get it. I don't like it. I'm as old as planet earth, so I probably won't be around for too many more football seasons. So I won't have to see the Alabama-auburn feud continue to fizzle out until it's not a true rivalry anymore.

I too am old and remember the great rivalry games. At the end of the day I believe the new younger fans have the rivalry still as heated as ever. This is not a rivalry game. It is not our play. If we are not in the championship game then I really don't care who wins it. I even thought the Iron Bowl this year had a weird tone with ESPN showing the Roll Tide War Eagle show all week. There are different opinions about how any fan should be. Opinions are just like A$$holes. We all have one.

MunchyOs, can a Bama fan go to school at Auburn? Reason I ask is that I know a Bama fan who attended Auburn for the degree, but I wouldn't doubt his allegiance for a minute. I am not one of "this new generation of Bama fans who, for whatever reason, does not want this to be a rivalry anymore." I just don't see a problem with pulling for the Barn on occasion. Here's a hypothetical situation. If an Auburn victory over whomever would assure Alabama of the SEC title or a place in the BCS Championship, or a slot in the playoffs, would you not pull for them?

If we have to depend on them to get into the playoffs, then that just means that we did not take care of business at some point prior to that.
