I am proud of this board, and most of its memberbase.

For those of you in cyberspace that want to gripe and moan about this loss, and the fact that we stunk it up, go right ahead. We did stink it up, or was it that Utah was that good? Go right ahead and complain, when most everyone of us never expected to win 9 games, much less 12. When most of us said that 2009 or 2010 will be our year. When most of us bought into the fact that it will take some time to get back to where we belong. Playing for championships. Two years and we played for the SEC championship. Two years and we saw a number one ranking for the first time since 93. When most of us thought we were world beaters until we lose poorly. I digress

The game......

I for one hate losing. It takes every fiber of my being to admit we lost, I want to find reasons why. Truth is, the reason we lost, is that Utah was the better team. Plain and simple. There is no other way to put it. I will say this, say what you want, but things are still looking up for us. If anybody doesn't believe that, then go be a Tennessee fan, or a Auburn fan for that matter. Two years into Coach Saban's tenure and they won 12 games, one miserable loss, and people are ready to crawl under a rock, blame Andre, Coach Saban, John Parker, or any one individual. Here is some breaking news... the team, the whole team, wins games, and loses them.

I for one am proud of this team. I am proud of Alabama, and I am proud to be a Fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide. This loss only makes me want the 2009 season to get here sooner. Call this thread what you want, sunshine pumping or whatever, this wonderful ride of being a Bama fan ain't over, and I ain't ducking, hiding, blaming, or crawling under no rock.

Win with class, lose with class. Thats my take.

Congrats to Utah and Congrats to My Alabama Crimson Tide for a great season.

Roll Tide!

Well said 66.

Within reason and considering Bamas last 6-7 years, the team should not even be playing at this level.

Game reminded me of the 2005 Iron Bowl were Aubrun jumped out to a 21(I think lead) in a fast paced offense. Team never recovered in that game and it was the same in this one.

Congrats Utah on a dominate win.

Congrats Bama you had a great year and I for one am looking at the future, because this season was an unexpected surprise.

Bama fans have a choice

We can whine and moan about the Sugar Bowl loss, and what might have been after the heartbreaking loss in the SEC championship game.

Or we could be grateful that Nick Saban, his team, and his assistant coaches helped Alabama greatly exceed expectations this year. The Tide went 12-0 in the regular season and 8-0 in the regular season. They destroyed several teams that were favored to win, most notably Clemson and Georgia. They beat Auburn for the first time in seven years, and had the biggest margin of victory in the Iron Bowl in 46 years. And they beat LSU for the first time in six years. The Tide could never have won that game just a few years ago, but they won all the tight games during the regular season this year. They came close to losing to Kentucky and Ole Miss, but they held on to win both those games.

We could also be grateful that Bama is only losing nine scholarship seniors this year, and looks poised for another Top Five recruiting class.

It's all how you look at it.

I agree somewhat 66, but it still does not negate the facts of the matter to me. The west champs should have done better simple as that and yea I’m proud we have won 12 games but the lost in the Sugar bowl I will remember for a long time. I hope the ones that played in it do too.

That's exactly what I thought. Bama got down 21-0 to Auburn in 2005, and the final score was Auburn 28, Bama 18. Almost the same score as last night, 31 to 17.

Maybe our problem is the team is one year's ahead. The infamous process isn't still over and our expectations (at one point) were pretty high for this season. Nobody expected this type of success (you remember, we were out of the Top25 at the start of the season) but the future is bright. Next year we're gonna be more stronger on both sides of the ball.

By the way, congrats for the Utes, they deserve an amount of credit for their win and their undefeated season.

RTR,

IMO, I dont think anyone thought that Bama would finish with a 12-2 record, be ranked number 1 in the country for 5 or 6 weeks and play in a BCS bowl. If we knew that at the beginning of the year, I think all of us would have jumped on that bandwagon quick. CNS and staff did in year 2 what almost all of us thought/hoped they woulld do in year 3 until he retires or leaves. I've said all year and I'll repeat it again Alabama is a year ahead of schedule. Last night, Utah was the better team plain and simple.

Brother, I agree, trust me. I felt a wave of heat everytime Utah completed a pass, sacked JPW, and looked at the scoreboard. When I sat back after the game, and read most of our memberbase here tell it like it is, congratulate the opposing team, and compared it to other boards, I realized some things... we got some great fans on RTB, we had a special year, and it ain't over. The boys will be back to fight another day. The day we accept mediocre returns will be the day Alabama football is dead. It ain't today. Its all in how you present it I guess.

I totally understand many of the frustrations, but in retrospect, it ain't over. Its just beginning. I never forget the bitter losses, but these players have 4 years to win it, and the rest of their lives to relive the what ifs. This team accomplished a lot this year. They turned the corner on a great deal of things. No more 6 fingers in the air, no more streaks inside our conference, and a fresh start next year.

To forget what they have accomplished would be a shame in my book. Its up to next years team now. Carry on that tradition, and keep building a championship program. I will keep buying tickets, and watching them accomplish it.

ROLL TIDE

Very well said sir great post. I agree 100% and you're right this is just the start.

it ain't over. Its just beginning.

Before the season began who thought this team would accomplish so much and win 12 games? Coach Saban got every ounce out of the talent on this team and with each recruiting year things will only improve. We are very lucky to have this Coach and coaching staff. As Bama gets better recruits McElwain's offense will look much better.

What a year. Bama is back.
