| FTBL A Question for the LSU fans

tigerfan said:
LSU fans would be very upset. Always are after a loss. A lot more so here. Don't think we want this game any more than we wanted to beat Auburn or UF. If it weren't for Saban there may not be that much emotion at all. I don't understand it. The man did what he thought was in his best interests and he brought a lot to our program.

As far as Tulane goes, MF could not move that helped Tulane. In the second half, LSU quit messing around and just ran it down their throats. LSU can and will run the ball. AU had not allowed over 100 yards rushing until they played LSU. UF had not allowed the number of yards rushing before or since they played us.

As far as the UF game goes, that is the hardest hitting game I have ever seen. It was intense emotianally and physically. I will not take anything away from UK, but had we played them any other week, it would not have turned out the way it did. Ask UK how they felt after two physical games against LSU and UF. Why do you think they laid an egg against MSU?

This conference is brutal. Bama has only lost one conference game. That gets your attention regardless of the past. How did fans feel after you lost to a horrible FSU team? Why did you lose to a team that you are superior to (talent wise, coaching, etc)?

This game is going to be extremely hard hitting, trust me. Nick knows it as this is how he developed our program and what he is now bringing to yours. He helped establish our identity. And Miles (whether people like him or not) is a smash mouth coach having learned under Bo S. This will be the main difference between LSU and UT. Everytime UT gets punched in the mouth, they fold. They did it against Cal, UF and you guys (even against PSU last year).

If we lose you will hear some grumblings, but personally losing to a storied program and a fine football team to me would not be a disgrace. If we were to lose, of more interest to me would be how we lost. A fluke play where the kids fight their butts off. NEVER a Disgrace. If they laydown like UT, I'll throw up.

Solid post, with some wisdom behind it. I don't expect either team to just lay down. If we get by yall we have accomplished something, no doubt.

And vice versa. I am going to the game. It will be my first visit to BDS. Went to UT last year. Was disappointed as I did not think their stadium was very loud. This despite a close game and they were being scouted by BCS bowls.

Everything tells me that I will not be disappointed this week.

Glad to have you over here tigerfan. You seem to not be like the other LSU fans that have came here, mainly to cause trouble. Solid post of yours and I believe most of us here will agree with you on it.

You should have a great time here visiting BDS and Tuscaloosa. As long as you're not a rabid fan people will accept you and your team. It's the bad apples that probably will run into trouble if they spout off. As far as stadium noise goes, this will be a loud game unless you guys run the board on us  . for reference how it was 2 weeks ago after we blasted UT a new one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkMSZwIQDdw 8)

Here's to hopefully a great game now only 2 days away!! My vehicle paraphanelia is already on

Thanks. I notice the only time you guys say things I don't necessarily like is when someone starts some s***. Don't blame you, it is YOUR board. I don't want to start anything, just love talking football.

I did not answer the question regarding us against Tulane. That is because I don't have one for you. Unfortunately, Tulane (Bob Toledo is not a bad coach BTW) picked up on some things that USCe had done. They got after us. The bigger problem was that once exposed, the better teams were able to use this to their advantage.

What has bothered me about this coaching staff is that they have not countered very effectively. They have had five weeks to adjust and have not. Cannot understand it. Tebow was one thing, but everyone is having success when they spread us out. Not what one would expect. If we don't do a better job of defending it, we will get beat. Hopefully, after two weeks to work on it, they can do better with it.

Last call for bayou.

Okay, the other LSU posters have responded to this post and its original question with class and insight. I keep waiting to see if you are capable of doing the same.

Are you going to answer this thread's original question? We really would like to know what you think might transpire if Alabama follows Kentucky suit and defeats LSU. How will Les Miles be viewed by you and the Tiger faithful then?

Don't you believe if LSU had had another big-time college coach last season that the Tigers would be vying for a NC repeat right now?

Is it possible that Les Miles has squandered two "golden" opportunities for LSU to have had NCs?

For once, quit playing the stereotypical "dumb coonass" role and give a straight answer.

What will be Coach Miles' fate should he lose on Saturday?

Could we have repercussions similar to those surrounding Mike Archer's demise after his visited BDS in 1990?

Here's a link to the recap of the game:

Recap

Some claim that what transpired in the fourth quarter was really the final act, which set the wheels in motion for Archer's firing, though dropping 4 out of LSU's last 5 games didn't help matters.

After the Bama game, Archer was harshly criticized for sending in 3rd-string qb Moock while LSU was pinned back near the endzone and Bama up only 10-3 with over 13 minutes left in the game. LSU called a pass play out in the flat and Bama's Spencer Hammond intercepted, returning it 12 yards for a TD. LSU never recovered after that.

From the get-go, some LSU supporters were not happy when Mike Archer was named head coach in 1987, and for good reason--a contingency of LSU supporters were not keen with the decision to turn over a nationally-respected team to a young coach with no previous head coaching experience. Archer was chosen over a number of interviewed candidates, which reportedly included Steve Spurrier, Mike Shanahan and Mack Brown. Ironically, Arnsparger would later hire Spurrier at Florida, and the Gators would become a national powerhouse.

There are rumblings amongst Tiger fans right now, questioning Miles' competency as a head coach, so what will likely happen to Coach Miles should Alabama defeat LSU on Saturday?

If LSU loses, Miles will obviously be in big trouble. You would not be able to fire a guy with his record after 3 years if he ends up winning 10 games and going to another respectable bowl. People would not mind him going to Michigan, if he drops another game before the National Championship.

1 loss in the SEC with our talent is acceptable, but 2 losses and not making the SEC Championship game would be a disaster.

Miles is a good coach and I expect a win Saturday. This is the type of game he needs to win decisively if he wants to be here for the long haul and keep LSU a top 10 program.

Thank you. Your comments are well-taken. I knew deep down inside you had at least one straight answer in you.

Come Saturday, I will be rooting very hard for a Bama victory, but should the Bayou Bengals pass this test, I will then be cheering for them to win out and have an opportunity to play for the NC.

Good luck this weekend. Here's to a game for the ages!

I am a good guy with great football knowledge. Women should stay in the kitchen. Football is a man's sport.

I figured that. I lived around Baton Rouge for six years; I have a pretty good idea of the kind of humor and mentality you have displayed. Lot of folks take it too serious or don't quite understand it.

I've had "Tiger Bait" yelled in my face many, many times in Baton Rouge but never have I also been treated with such hospitality in terms of food, drink, and partying. Even had a tailgate group adopt me as one of their own during the 6 years I spent in Red Stick, so I know what good folks LSU fans can also be.

I honestly believe most Tiger fans would give a rival visitor their last bowl of gumbo or jambalaya and even half of one last beer in the cooler () because I have found out that's the kind of people they are--obnoxious but generous.

bayou, I believe if you relaxed a little bit and didn't show your stripes so much, a few others around here might understand what I'm trying to say and already know.

Wow! The battle of the sexes broke out while I was typing my last post.

This should get interesting.

Factor, you ain't read nuthin' yet. I also was too late to edit my "coonass cooking for me post". I should have added:

"I'll remember the 'kitchen comment' when I stroll into work Monday morning to work on the latest munitions design for the missiles that protect your sorry ass everyday."

That is what it should have said. But I wasn't sure Bayou would understand it, seeing he's not too sure how old he is.

And can we steer this back to football, I mean if you guys think that that would be alright for a girl to ask??

Steer back to football and miss the opportunity of watching a man get put back in his place by a woman? That's a lot to ask, especially when I'm not the one being put back in place.

Btw, that thread you just included was classic stuff. How did I miss that?

I know one cajun who must already have his hands full in Heflin. And now we have another right here on this site.
