Of course they didn't have nails, they were using all of their steel to build ships...

I built plastic injection molds. Something so precise that a thin super heated liquid forced in under tons of psi that had to let air escape but not the liquid plastic and there was always some hand fitting but that joinery was as much art as anything. I watched it twice. Mad respect
