🏈 9-3

Guys, in what most people have considered a "down year", we still have a chance to pull out 10 wins for the 3rd consecutive season.

Tonight was a roller coaster of a game and it's tough anytime you lose after starting out 24-0, but we still have a very young team. And we have a lot of young players who will remember this loss for a long, long time.

Losing to Auburn isn't the end of the world. Nobody likes it, but it's happened before and it will happen again.

ROLL TIDE!!!!

It is what it is...

ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!

I would rather be 9-3 and looking forward to a bowl and a much improved team in 2011 than to be undefeated but also knowing that the official letter of inquiry from the NCAA should be in the mail any day.

We have to look into developing McCarron though. Our inefficiency on defence will be cured after one more year, of that I have little doubt, I cant wait to see Millner and Mosely with the offseason training program. Especially mosely

Also, Millner, that guy hits as hard as anyone on our team. I kinda wonder if we should move him to safety.

Mosely, oh boy, he and Hightower will eat people up.

But its going to depend on McCarron. We can run, the passing game is fulll of people waiting to make names for themselves, ii expect more consistency from the line, its just him thatll be the big question amrk. He has the arm, but can he use a right amount of touch? Also, he needs to be more aware in the pocket.

Losing to Auburn wont happen again for awhile, once fairly anfd newton are gone, and with the impending vacation, let alone possible sanctions that will indirectly or directly effect recruiting, they wonnt be contenders for a few years

The 2007 team would've ended up at 7-5 at best. That team was relatively young on starters & didn't have that much talent. The 2010 team is 9-3 basically due to so much raw talent out there. With loses to 3 top 25 teams that were relatively close that shows the talent is there but they just need more maturity to play with consistency.

Is there an arguement that this program is not healthy? Can anyone tell me why we will not be a contender anytime soon?

Coaching as good as anywhere. World-class recruits coming in, All-Americans taking the field, First rounders on Draft day. Program, Facilities, Academics. The right history, the right conference, the right mindset. Its STILL the complete package.

Seriously, where is the weakness?

The program is in excellent shape moving forward, but there have been weaknesses this year, they still cant put a complete game together, and running the ball has been a big challenge at times.
I do trust Saban will fix this, and the talent that he is bring in is pretty amazing, we'll be back with a vengeance.

I agree with this. We have lots of talent, a great coach, and the facilities are second to none. Of course, that's been true for several years now. So what happened this year? Well, aside from the obvious youth issue: we struggled most of the year to control the LOS on both sides of the ball; Mark and Trent each had only two 100 yard rushing games; Mark had only half as many carries as last year and Trent had only 2/3 as many carries; GMac had problems with fumbles in critical situations; we had too many guys not playing 60 minutes; and all year long we had trouble with second half adjustments made by other teams, though we were far enough ahead in most cases that it didn't matter.

This means that there's plenty of opportunities for improvement - even in the coaching department. We are going to have to play more aggressively - play to win, don't play to not lose. We are going to have to find leadership on both sides of the ball. Our coaches are going to have to be more creative when teams make adjustments. And, CNS, who is the master at rebuilding a championship program, has his own personal challenge - figuring out how to maintain one. I have total faith that he is up to that challenge and will figure it out.
