🏈 2025 NFL Draft Thread

Valid point. I hope he does. Got a bit of green in the meantime so it makes me pause.

I know what happened. I don't what is going to happen. I tend to judge people on what has happened versus what may happen.
So I'm more of the the guy where I say, okay you fucked up. How are you gonna fix this? I want to see the growth and maturity out of this. That's what I'm hoping for Jalen and I think he will.

I should have made a caveat here that I honestly know nothing about Sanders other than he is Deons son. He may be a great kid no idea but it seems like there is something going on that folks shied away from. Was it ability, external baggage or other? No clue only speculation.
The stories are coming out. He did not have good one-on-ones with coaching staffs. Tried to control the meetings. Wouldn’t respond to specific play questions. Seemed disinterested. Add this to his unwillingness to participate in the combine, Senior Bowl or individual workouts with teams. His attitude and behavior turned off a lot of teams.

He knew his flaws last season. But, in a choice to "Let All Naysayers Know," he chose to ignore his coaching and try to "prove" he was a passing QB.

How is that high character?
He didn’t try to prove he was a passing QB. He pulled the ball down and ran too soon. He let his strength try to cover his weakness.

BUT.

I am supposed to consider this man to be of high character with what he did to the team last season?

No. Just, no.

I've said for months I was going to start talking about him...here it is.

Hey, I can't think otherwise unless I know the entire story. Who was his handler? I know some brought up comments last Fall about him holding the team hostage and they were berated. So is that now true to how it went down?

Let's put this way. Not speaking for anyone. If the gameplan was for him to do certain things.. he would go out there and did the opposite. I don't think he really took gameflimn study serious. So, I felt like if he did what coaches told him to do, he would've fare much much better and probably ends up on NY.

Shedeur is kinda the same guy. I don't think he really took film study serious either and he rely on his athletic traits more than his mental traits .... Both of something in common. Cocky, aggroant and selfish.

Now both in NFL... Milroe is likely to learn from this than Sanders will. I think he'll get better.

What do you not get about my view?

My comment is a blanket one, as a whole, and not limited to here. As for your view, other than saying he isn't of high character, I'm not not sure what it is.

On his character... IMO, he's had some maturity issues like most anyone at that age (not helped by some close to him), but I've never heard anything that really indicates he has poor character. I have heard some stuff that would suggest the opposite in some cases, but it's also not something I'm real concerned with. He's a football player not my financial advisor.

Well said. To be frank (not Shirley) I was counting on this response. I didn't mean it as "bait." I just knew/thought what you would say.

He hasn't developed his "character."

Let me sharpen the pencil. Milroe would administer the game plan but wouldn’t/couldn't wait for the play(s) to develop. Instead he would pull the ball down and run, or if there were options he would lean heavily on the QB run option. His athletic ability helped many of these choices to work but the wrong decisions were amplified. It’s one thing to have a game like this but when it happened again, and again, and again even the casual fan could see a consistent pattern.

I wish the best for him in Seattle or wherever he ends up. I certainly don’t want him to fail. He does have a ways to go before he’s a starting QB.
