| MBB/WBB 2024-25 Pre-season - Tide opens the season Monday night

We had a similar thread last year, and like it, I will update this one with the movement as it happens and next season's roster takes shape. Obviously, all the players in red that are set to return, won't. And others will be added via the portal. But I'll keep this updated and keep track of it as it all unfolds. As always, let me know of any errors/mistakes.

Also, keep in mind, there are 13 scholarship spots available per season. As of now, Alabama is +2 (15 scholarshipped players), which means at a minimum, 2 of the following will not return.

It's that time of year again when I have to step in and calm you down before you start running through walls...:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Ain't nothing gonna stop me.

I'm at that point in the offseason where it's a ridiculous high where we'll go undefeated. Subsequently followed by claiming we have no chance of winning a game after our first turnover against UNC Asheville on the first possession.

I just watched this. I know he was just responding to the questions, but this was probably the most I've heard Oats talk at length about the defense. Called Cliff the best rim protector in the country; talk about our guard stance and being able to clog lanes; etc..

Despite being an offensive oriented coach, he's always emphasized and coached harder on defense IMO.

I agree.

Work hard at defense to have the right to enjoy offense.

One feeds the other to a frenzy of defensive stops turning into offensive transition opportunities to bring the house down.

I’m sure they will be at the game. Hope the football team can seal the deal and allow the recruits to see the fans cheering wildly.
Yep this is setting up as a huge win or a huge flop/letdown. You know Smart wants this one bad and is talking up the disrespect from the talking heads who have started leaning towards Bama. I am afraid that is not going to help the good guys and this is not going to turn out well. Sorry I do not mean to be negative ...

Now back to the thread topic, this team certainly has the highest expectation I have ever seen around Bama basketball. Hope Oats can pull it off...
