Here's my question: if the bowl games don't mean anything to the players because all they care about is the NFL, then why bother having bowl games at all? I have reached a point in my life that I have no interest in all the bowl games that are played. Of course I will watch Bama, and if there is an intriguing matchup, then I might check it out, but to me bowl season is boring. Multiple teams that I care nothing about and have no desire to watch. Maybe it's time to let the old world bowl system go and find something better with which to replace it. My other thought is that this proves what we have been saying all along. These kids don't care about the college, the fans, or their teammates. They only care about getting to the NFL. Big boy college football has become a pipeline to the NFL, and it has nothing to do with education or academics. So let's stop pretending and treat college football like it is: a minor league for the NFL.
