šŸ“” 2018 NCAA Coaching changes - Former Alabama assistant Derrick Ansley lands at Tennessee

Funny how these guys cycle....Diaz....As many as i can remember....DC at Texas, La Tech....Miami..and now head mann at the perennial power house Temple....
Guess thats life in football

Diaz actually started out as a grad assistant to Mickey Andrews at FSU.

Mickey Andrews was also the head coach at Florence St., now the University of North Alabama. I also saw on this thread by @JoseyWalesTheOutlaw , that Mark Hudspeth, the former UNA coach is going to Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN.

Speaking of UNA and Temple. I seem to recall Bobby Wallace leaving UNA for Teme after winning a few national championships at UNA.

Mickey was one of our assistant coaches at Livingston in 68. He was a great person to be around. Mickey replaced Coach Higgenboathem and in 1971 Livingston won the NC (NAIA). Troy State won the NC in 68.

@JoseyWalesTheOutlaw isn't Livingston now West Alabama? We have another UNA and WA connection, Bobby Wallace, who coached at both places.

Bobby Wallace did leave UNA for Temple after winning 3 straight National Championships in Florence. He did not do so well at Temple and returned to coaching at West Alabama, which I think use to be Livingstone. He finished his career after returning to UNA for the second time as head coach.

Gus Malzahn: ā€˜My contract has not changed one bit’

JMO but the good ole boy network at the cow college were defeated by the new boy network. The old boyz called upon their owned media to trash Gus and spread the rumors hoping to fire up the base and force the new boyz to buyout Gus. They failed and now all those owned MSM members look like fools then again you knew that already. Jimmy Sexton wasn't about to return one of those New Range Rovers he bought for everybody in his family after pulling the wool over Barn U was that 49 million contract.

Yes! Livingston and West Alabama are one and the same.

Mark Richt Retiring at Miami

Mark Richt is no longer the head coach at Miami.

InsideTheU has learned through multiple sources that Richt informed school officials on Sunday that he plans to retire. UM shortly after confirmed the news through a statement.
"Dear Hurricane Family:
A few hours ago, I informed UM Director of Athletics Blake James that it is time for me to retire from coaching so I am stepping down as the Head Coach of UM Football. The decision came after a great deal of thought, discussions with my family, and prayer. This was my decision.
The University of Miami has been a part of my life for more than three decades. It shaped me as a young man and provided me with the coaching opportunity of a lifetime. My love for The U is simply great. My true desire is for our football program to return to greatness, and while terribly difficult, I feel that stepping down is in the best interests of the program.
I want to express my sincere appreciation to the entire Hurricane Family for welcoming me back home and for supporting the outstanding young men in our program. I only wish that we could have achieved greater things in return. I also want to thank President Frenk and Blake for their incredible support, as well as the outstanding men and women in UM Athletics. Most importantly, I want to thank the incredible coaches, staff, and their families who gave their all to The U each and every day, and our student-athletes, who wore The U jersey with pride and who worked hard towards their degree.
Katharyn and I will be cheering on the Canes in the years to come and The U will never leave our hearts.

Mark Richt"

Mark Richt Retiring at Miami

Wow, that was outta nowhere.

I heard that Oregon just locked Mario Christobal in an undisclosed maximum protection facility.

Does Miami have a Phil Knight? I'd stay in Oregon if I were him, he's got everything lined up for a run at winning the Pac-12 and watching the semi's from Eugene ;).

Hey @Tidestalker...let's talk about that terrible timing of the ESP with regards to Miami's 2019 commits ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ

Reckon that infamous tweet from the AD had any weight on his decision ?

Plus Miami has only been relevant when they were giving out ā€œ boats and hoes ā€œ ( step brothers reference ) but seriously, when other than then have they been an elite program ? What makes the AD think they have the pedigree to be elite? They have ZERO fan support , crappy facilities, no on campus stadium .. I just don’t see where the arrogance comes from ..
