šŸ“” 2018 NCAA Coaching changes - Former Alabama assistant Derrick Ansley lands at Tennessee

Sources: Nick Saban has his 2019 offensive coordinator - FootballScoop

Sources tell FootballScoop that Nick Saban plans to promote Dan Enos to offensive coordinator for the 2019 season.
Enos currently holds the title of associate head coach and quarterbacks coach on Nick Saban’s Alabama staff.
BOOM.

His offenses at Arky were pretty damn good.

I have a feeling we'll see a slightly more pro-style tweak going forward, with respect to the run and play action game.

Awesome.

1st thing he needs to do is snatch a knot in #13's azz about his regression on getting rid of the ball quicker and his lack of dumping off to his RB's quicker when things down field go South. I don't understand how his decision making process went South. Is it possible that all his success actually went to his head? He started drifting in the Mizzou game.

Mack Brown is hiring Ole Miss offensive coordinator Phil Longo to be his offensive coordinator, sources tell FootballScoop. Bruce Feldman first tweeted about the move. Feldman adds that former Texas Tech offensive line coach Brandon Jones is expected to join the UNC staff as well in the same capacity.

Could it have been coaching? It is a proven that Enos can make a better Qb out of a mediocre one, but how good is his coaching with an already great Qb ? Could certain coaching techniques and training take out or dull some of Tua's natural instincts and put him on a downward slide ?

In regards to the Coverage UGA employed... it was a bit unusual. When the RB released to the outlet, the safety came down to coverage and the LB Fired into a delayed blitz on the QB.

I think this really screwed with Tua's progression and reads. He struggled with it all night. Hurts on the other hand just rolled out and run with the ball when that happened.... UGA had trouble adjusting to that dynamic...

I think it was just coverage that Tua had never seen before and hadn't prepped for. He struggled in game adjusting to it also, but some of that may have been do to limited mobility with the injury on the 3rd snap.

I'm not really worried about that so much... the film will show Tua all he needs to see and I'd much rather get that film/learning to him in a win than a loss... He'll get better as he sees more and more of what Defense's cook up to beat him.

Woah.

Confirms what I suspected about Butch's influence on the offense, @TerryP

I like ol' Butch. He was entertaining at UT versus some of those who've moved through Knoxville. He certainly 'bonded' well with the coaching staff as well as they players.

I have a hard time following how you're crediting the offenses success to Butch. The spread concepts were brought to UA through Locks. We've seen improvement with the wide receivers this year—attributable to coaching, no doubt—but that credit has to fall to Gattis. And, as we've seen with Jalen, Enos has earned his money.

But, what we've seen this season is linked to Butch? I don't see it that way. His position can be labeled as quality control. He's had a role in game preparation and pointing out tendencies, etc. But the coaching? To me, each coach on offense has done their job(s.)

Funny how these guys cycle....Diaz....As many as i can remember....DC at Texas, La Tech....Miami..and now head mann at the perennial power house Temple....
Guess thats life in football

Diaz actually started out as a grad assistant to Mickey Andrews at FSU.

Mickey Andrews was also the head coach at Florence St., now the University of North Alabama. I also saw on this thread by @JoseyWalesTheOutlaw , that Mark Hudspeth, the former UNA coach is going to Austin Peay in Clarksville, TN.

Mickey was one of our assistant coaches at Livingston in 68. He was a great person to be around. Mickey replaced Coach Higgenboathem and in 1971 Livingston won the NC (NAIA). Troy State won the NC in 68.
