🏈 2017 NFL Draft Thread

Doesn't always end well for juniors who leave early but this season all the Alabama players got a good enough draft selection to be worth the risk. I hate seeing guys leave and then flame out in the draft. As always, there were many in the SEC who really should have stayed, but money has its way of luring and enticing the most level headed of players.
But when you totally whiff in the draft, know that you made a bad decision, economically speaking.

Ole Miss receiver Damore’ea Stringfellow, Kentucky running back Stanley “Boom” Williams, Georgia linebacker Tim Kimbrough and Texas A&M receivers Ricky Seals-Jones and Speedy Noil came up empty at the end of seven rounds.

Not sure why Kimbrough is on the list, he totally whiffed at Georgia first. I believe the Aggie receivers were 5*. Given that throwing the ball is about all that Sumlin's team is good at, what a whiff.

I like how Maurice Smith's transfer to UGA got him that high draft pick he was looking for. Really makes screwing everyone out of another ring worth it, I guess.

Don't blame Smith for Alabama's loss. He had his reasons for leaving. The draft was crowded with DBs this year. Even undrafted free agents have been known to make a team. The league minimum is still decent $ for a <23 year old.
