Bama travels to Lexington to take on the Wildcats this weekend (starters listed below). Kentucky is sitting atop the SEC East right now (8-1), but they've been playing a bit over their heads up to this point and had an easier SEC slate to deal with compared to some. That said, they are really good. The concern for Bama (IMO), is that they do pretty much everything well across the board... hitting, pitching, and fielding... not really a lot of weaknesses. At the plate, they lack the power most other SEC teams have, but they are a run manufacturing machine with small ball, stolen bases, etc. They put a lot of pressure on opposing defenses, and the Tide's defense this year has been lackluster to say the least. They are a team built to win close games and they rarely shoot themselves in the foot. Bama can ill afford to give away outs and put guys on the bases with walks. At the plate, UA needs to try and get into Kentucky's pen as early as possible and put the pressure on their staff starting on Friday. This is a series Bama can absolutely win if the bats show up and they play clean on defense. But if they don't, the Wildcats will win their 4th startight SEC series (2 of the 3 have been sweeps).

Was following on stat cast and damn we stunk!!! 3 hits from the offense and a shitload of walks from pitching!

Zero plan at the plate other than BE AGRESSIVE, which at this point in the SEC schedule, with this roster and lineup, plays right into opposing team's hands. It's basically a video game mentality without the video game players.

Cats get the sweep with a 10-1 route. No way to sugarcoat it, just an embarrassing showing by Bama this weekend. Tide was 0-18 with RISP over the 3 games. Just 15 hits total. They have zero offensive identity other than swing hard and often. I'm high on Vaughn's potential as a coach, but he is getting schooled right now in league play. The concerning thing is, he's showing zero ability (or willingness more than likely) to adjust. In the SEC you have to be a coach and a manager, you can't just rely on being the former. As for the team, it doesn't get any easier next weekend when they welcome the Hogs to town... Arkansas will pick their bones clean if they don't find something quick.
