šŸˆ You’re The Head Coach, What Changes Do YOU Make?

But seriously, first move is to evaluate the roster and coaches and making decisions of who's staying and who's not saying. Create a list of potential targets for coaches and players. This should've been done months ago by my GM. So really... just go and attack the portal immediately. Don't mess up like they did last year with OL.
There needs to be a serious analysis of why the offensive line has struggled so badly.

It has been said that many times:

  • This been going on for years.. started in Saban years.
  • Part of that is development of OL and RBs.
-Part of that is on Grubb who doesn't really use the basic run concept with pulling guards and etc.

This is a simple fix: CKD needs to have uncomfortable conversations with Grubb and the players. Go out and get better players.

Its a tough question because even in Saban's last year hey weren't world beaters. Its easy to say its the O Line coach (and a lot of that is true), but given this has been an issue since 2023, they need to do a root-cause analysis of some sort.

I’m telling Byrne to hold off on any extension talk until I’ve proven something.
OMG. Even thought of extension needs to be shit canned.
Erased from dictionary...eliminated...
We just put on the most embarrassing performance in bama bowl history
By the indiana....not ohio state...not Michigan...not notre dame...f** king...indiana

Fire the o-line coach, offensive coordinator and special teams coach. Maybe some other coaches too. Go all out getting EXPERIENCED offensive lineman in the portal. ENFORCE CONSEQUENCES ON PLAYERS AND COACHES WHO PERFORM POORLY. GROW A SPINE. Renew the MTAQ spirit that Saban instilled. Treat my players and coaches like grown men, not little children who need a titty in their mouth.

If I’m the HC, I put my nose down and keep grinding, and building my program the way I know how to.

Yesterday was a tough showing, but dude, we made the playoffs, won a game, and got blown out by maybe the best team in the country.

Indiana looked really good.

It’s always tough for me to put this into words, but when Saban retired, I immediately had the thought that whoever the next coach was going to be, they would pretty much have to build this program back from the ground up. And that’s pretty much what has happened…most of the older roster has transferred or graduated - and this is only year two.

CKD isn’t Saban, but he still a damn good option.

As a fan, I get it. It has been a long time since we've seen an Alabama team get physically dominated to the extent it looked like they made our ass quit. I'm not sure that the physical style of football is in CKD's coaching DNA. It hasn't been anywhere he's coached, Ive always seen it as a soft we will beat you like we're playing chess kind of scheme. You never hear him say anything about dominating your opponent, play with physicality. Its always, play the next play, the game will come to you and things like that. If he wins with his style at Bama, great, but IMO, that shit show last night made the "give him time" a lot shorter.
