I knew we were near the bottom of the NCAA in this category, but hadn't looked to see where lately until I ran across a comment on TI just a few minutes ago.
Auburn is on the horizon with a few teams left in our wake. If we see the Tide not only get through the Tigers, but make it through the SECCG and into the playoffs, I guarantee you that you'll hear a rival fan talk about how the officials have helped Bama get where they are.
BUT, have they?
Out of 128 teams, Bama is in 128th place in opponent penalties. The officials have had an influenceābut it's not about making sure Bama comes out on top.
