Calling it right here and now. Wednesday night will be epic. Anthony Grant makes a huge statement with the Tide and claims his signature win, the biggest of his career at Bama.

Duke almost lost to Vermont the other night .. I think Bama has GOT THIS. ROLL TIDE!

Oklahoma played well against Michigan State. Looking back, if Releford and Obasahan don't get into foul trouble that game with the Sooners would have been much different. The Tide had a big lead until fouls reared their ugly head. Now, Vermont is a quality team, one of the highest winning percentages in all of college basketball over the last six or seven years. They have shooters too. Tall shooters. Still, I'm still thinking Bama is going to pull the shocker. I said earlier I'm going to quit being a Debbie Downer. I'm pulling for the Tide and Anthony Grant. If we don't believe, who does?

I was watching that, Oklahoma is a very streaky team, much like us. One minute, they're hot. Another, they just look lost. I think we'll keep it close hopefully. I have watched Duke over the years and if you think the Oklahoma officials are bad, just wait till you get a hold of these. I won't make any excuses because Duke is far and away more talented than us, but I'll say Alabama usually does a good job at keeping games competitive until the very end.

K intimidates officials. If he can't win fair and square, he plays the "I'm Coach K" card. Hopefully in Madison Square Garden the officials will tell him they don't care who he is and he can go cry to the Cameron Crazies.

Ill be watching Algie Key in this game closely. Hes due for another monster like he played in the OU game and hes a matchup nightmare

I think he's special too. He gets to the ball and scores close to the rim, and I can't wait to see his numbers as the season progresses on how well he shoots the ball near the paint. It's going to be very high. He is definitely a scorer. He'll get points and bunches of them as the season continues. I'm known to be wrong quite often, but I think he looks like the guy we need for points. He's not big. I still don't know if he can shoot the spot up three too often, but he'll get in there and get points. I am really behind Anthony Grant and this team. Call me out if as the season goes along if I sound like I'm not. I'm being serious in thinking Bama has a great chance to beat the Dookies.

Duke spends more time sitting on the floor than playing defense. What a bunch of floppers. Too bad Releford is struggling as people sit down all around him and the officials call fouls. It's not over, but this is going to be tough sledding.

They fought hard the entire game. Obasohan seemed intimidated. Releford not a great game. I'd like to see what Key's FG percentage is so far this year. I wish he would shoot every time he touched the ball.

Its hard to beat Duke when the team is afraid to drive the ball because after Coach K yells at the refs once u get a charge called if ur within 5 ft of a Duke defender. That leads to a bunch of bad passes and turnovers. The refs and Coach K took Releford out of the game in the first half and the game was over. Bobby Knight really infuriated me last nite too. Everytime Bama scored or got the game close it wasnt because Bama did good according to him, it was because Duke either didnt play any defense or they just let Bama score. According to BK it should have been a 50 pt blowout

Exactly. I don't like to whine about the refs, but if you look back at this thread and as I posted during the game it's pretty obvious how much Coach K ticks me off. The refs were intimidated. My opinion about Booby Knight has not changed since he coached.

Not a bad game. I just hate that Alabama had so many missed opportunities. Those 3 charges were b.s IMO, but it wouldn't really have made a difference in the game. I expect Duke to get the same calls that Kentucky gets when we travel to Rupp. This has been the case in basketball for a long time. Alabama just had way too many missed shots and too many turnovers that cost them.

I'm not one for moral victories, but again I say, not a bad loss. We'll play a very good Drexel team here soon. If Algie Key can play more consistent to compliment Releford, this team can play with anyone. One thing they need to work on more is passing. Good lord looking at Duke pass the ball around as quickly as they do, creating open shots is a thing of beauty.
