On a more important topic … Freshman in high school having babies may work out if you’re an elite athlete who’s talented enough, focused enough and coached enough to become a professional player. A player who can then also stay healthy long enough to sign a couple of NFL contracts. If not, it’s a recipe for the parents and the child to become three more sad statistics for blacks. The primary issues facing the black community … high numbers of out of wedlock births, high dropout rates, low graduation rates, low test scores, high percentage of fatherless homes, low numbers numbers entrepreneurs, etc. All of which are the most reliable indicators of incarceration and poverty. I’m glad things have seemed to work out for Dre and his son but they are the exceptions that prove the rule. Unfortunately, they set an example that the overwhelming vast majority of young blacks can’t duplicate.
I grew till I was 20 years old. Not sure why everyone else is up in arms about a 14-15 year old topping out, even when genetics show otherwise. If this was a girl, then that may be the case, but this kid has plenty of time left to grow.
