"We built this program on NIL. Probably different than what you're thinking though... we built it on God's Name, Image, and Likeness."
Bravo!!!A few months ago when I said I was disgusted by the manner Dabo recruited Woods several asked why: here's your sign. With Woods father we saw what amounts to a devotional and a new Bible stuffed full of NIL cash.
The core message his "spill" is based upon is something I'm thankful for—the "spirit" of Christ and his forgiveness.
I see a lot of people who live according to those principles. I see; not I hear.
He's not proselytizing, he's pimping. He's taking the core of a lot of people's beliefs and turning those same beliefs into something akin to an impulse buy at Dollar General—in essence, minimalizing and trivializing a value while turning it into a marketing ploy.
In a football game,a sport: entertainment.
Flip the script a bit, change the players, and I'd get "phobic" attached to my name. It's not an irrational fear; it's simple disgust.
A lot of us who share Dabo’s faith nonetheless know proclamations like the one he made can often cause more harm than good. I have spent some time with him and his wife and I know he’s a true believer … but that doesn’t mean he’s always a wise one. If you met his pastor, you’d understand rather quickly where Dabo gets much of his rhetorical passion from and why, like with this announcement, he’s willing to write spiritual themed checks that just might bounce (see Hugh Freeze). When that occurs, as it often does, his “boldness” will bring condemnation down on all of Christianity. Like you, I have learned the hard way many times over the years to trust people’s actions a lot more than their words. And sadly, in the business world, I’ve also learned the hard way to protect my wallet whenever someone drops Christ’s name in our first meeting.A few months ago when I said I was disgusted by the manner Dabo recruited Woods several asked why: here's your sign. I've spent time with both and I know he's only who he wants to be, depending on who he's with. Thankfully, he doesn't try to emulate his psychopathic, pedo brother.. I have spent some time with him and his wife and I know he’s a true believer … but that doesn’t mean he’s always a wise one.
When your eyes see one thing and your ears hear another, use your brain. - Frank Sonnenberg.Haters hate....
Haters hate....
Hate. No. Dislike. No doubt. It's beginning with me is found in the '90's and continously reinforced since then. And I'll just go ahead and say this too... IMO, good bit of the hate and anger from Bama fans towards him is because he acts like a goober and he's beaten Bama/Saban twice for a national championship... makes that sting burn a little more for some.
***This post isn't meant to be a Pro-Dabo Defense Shield. I just think some of the hatred of the guy is a bit over the top... and much of it in the CFB world is follow the popular leaders bandwagon hatred.
Knowing both, since they lived in that apartment complex over at 10th and Hargrove, brings us a situation where it's facts versus a perceived low blow.It never seems to age well. Bringing the pedo brother up is kind of a low blow and honestly, only one will stand in judgment of Dabo in the end and it certainly won't be me.
I think dabo knows what he is doing....and isnt worried about criticismI don't claim to have any intimate knowledge of Dabo but I trust y'all know more than I do. I don't know his track record. I do believe in grace and His grace can forgive track records. Maybe that is the case. I simply don't know. Perhaps he opened himself up to this type of criticism or perhaps old demons just still plague him.
That's defined by one word, "narcissistic."I think dabo knows what he is doing....and isnt worried about criticism
