🏈 Y'all think it's safe to say, "Ty is going to be in NYC?" The Heisman.

Is just my perception we started the pre-season with quite a bit of talk about the trophy but now...crickets? Arch and Nuss to name two.

I've been casually watching news around this year and I've seen Ty referred to more as QB1 (draft references) in the last few weeks than I have about the trophy.

DeBoer commented on it today. (I appreciate the 'our' building.)

In our building, he's not bringing it up and our coaches are not bringing it up.

I don’t think it’s safe to say these days. Could he go crazy against Auburn and E. Illinois and squeak back into the talk? Yes. But it would take 2 huge games.

He’s now lost 5 fumbles, surpassing Milroe’s 4 last season. And with 2 INT’s, he’s passed Pavia in total turnovers. He’s lost sight of Mac Jones’ 2020 season with 10 games in the books.

About a month ago, maybe a little more, a guy I know told me Ty was looking at returning. Two weeks or so ago, he said the same.

He should return for a big payday that could get him into a spot in the game of life.

But his return would be with the understanding that he will have to win the job this spring and fall. Very possible that Russell will transfer if Ty elects to return.

Yeah we will recruit another stud 5* for sure.... Hate to lose good talent but it is going to happen. Having an experienced person under center that has shown he can sling it is worth several stars.... From the early draft reports seems a stretch to think Simpson will be back.

Ty had his shot. Got ball down 2. 7 minutes.
Shood around. Checked off. Checked again. Had to snap in under 2 seconds.

Nobody really helped him. Willams ran route half yard short of first. Even with catch. It wasn't a first.

The sack. The crazy throw trying to avoid sack. Ummmm

So. May be invited. But indiana qb had his moment. And delivered. Probably did it.

I don't mind him scrambling. But, when it's his head scrambling? Yeah. Ain't a good thing. And the last three games he's fallen back.

It's a reappearance of what kept him off the field last season.

He is about to get a prescription filled for a drug called Eastern Illinois. A Saturday afternoon dose of that can, and IMO will, clear his head. It's been a long stretch for him and this team since the UGA game, and they've handled it well overall. For Simpson specifically, he's had to go against some really good defenses, none of which were better than OU's Saturday night. auburn's will be legit, but not at OU's level, certainly not on the middle and backend. Before that though, Simpson can refill his timing, accuracy, and confidence cup against the Panthers in 5 days.
