That pitch is meat to me. 79 mph with left to right movement directly across the zone. I would have been all over that.

@BamaFan334 If the second pitch that was 79 mph came on the heals of the first it would be hard to adjust to. The beauty of baseball and savvy pitchers is how one or a series of pitches set the batter up and work to speed up or slow down your bat.

I played college ball at Georgia Southern before transferring to Alabama. I was a solid ballplayer with very quick hands. 95 and up was always a problem, but off speed stuff was just gravy to me.

I guess I should stipulate I meant the 3-3 pitch. The 2-3 pitch likely has me all over the plate reaching and missing.

2nd pitch fools A LOT of good hitters after having seen the 1st pitch diving and biting hard out of the zone. I'm a lefty and I could tell you that early in the count, that 2nd pitch would likely be somewhere over the batters eye or over the Rightfield Ragers heads!! 2 strikes, my knees have buckled and I'm turning back to the dugout, cussing into my helmet.

Throwing it underhanded takes the stress off the elbow like an overhand pitch does, by using the grip and wrist to get the spin they need...but still amazing at the speeds and ball movement they can spin the ball with.
