| LIFE Would you support Tesla if we came out with a phone?

I know. I still think it's a good question. Would you? Starlink is already in the cellular industry.
I would if it used starlink. Lots of spots back home with no coverage. That's assuming it was comparable to android capability/ price and in the same monthly price range. Would probably wait a year or so to see if the bugs were worked out.

With some of the things I've seen Elon hint at on X, I get the notion they are moving this direction: at least seriously considering the market.

I'm trying to think of how the story ran. It had to do with OpenAI, Apple devices, Musk saying he'd ban them and someone suggested the X Phone. It's been a few months since I read the report: early summer, maybe?

There's a market and he already has the network and capability from what I've read. Your cell phone being a sat phone would be nice for a lot of outdoorsmen. Well nice that you could use apps or make a call if needed and there's the con of your wife can now get in touch with you to let you know the washer sounds funny or something like that while you're trying to get away.

A couple of years ago I used an app while out on the Cooper River to show the guy who was driving the boat "we're on the wrong side of Daniel Island." He didn't believe me, or another friend who was with us.

It seems to me in storm conditions (aftermath) I'd rather rely on a satellite than a cell tower.
