Things to add to the list of "please get your facts straight".

1. The BCS has NEVER been released before October. This did not start the year after AU was left out of the BCS game. This started with the inception of the BCS standings.

Since I'm sure you're going to spin and spin until I provide proof, here is a link to the FIRST BCS release in 2004.

So, in 2004 when the first release of the BCS was issued, Auburn was already in 4th place.

You are right, but if you will also go back and look at the BCS itself, it was changed to omit certain polls and to attempt to lessen the impact of pre-season rankings on BCS rankings. IOW, they wanted it to be more about what the teams actually did rather than where they started in the polls. I don't know the specifics of how the BCS is caculated, but I know that it was changed after that 2004 issue.

The changes were forced not due to your situation in '04 but b/c the AP withdrew from the BCS.

I honestly wish AU would have played USCw that year. First, it would have probably been a better game but secondly, no one in the country would have beaten THAT USCw team THAT year.

After being waxed two yrs no one wanted to see that game until after OU lost.

truer words have never been spoken.

simply put, USC was THE best team in '04. were'nt there like 5 teams undefeated that year? the others being utah and someone like boise state?

IMO the barn can think a weak SEC that year and the game they bought out to play the Citadel or something like that and a pour game against a Alabama team with a poor coaching staff for not jumping OK that year

Yeah, that is correct. The Citadel game was the deal breaker in AU's schedule in 2004. The SEC is definitely much stronger right now than in 04.

And if my memory serves me correctly, Alabama had a half-time lead in Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl that year.

Regarding Bama's national championships, since the AP came into being (1936), Bama has won 7 titles (6 by Coach Bryant, 1 by Coach Stallings). Those 7 include some unanimous championships and some are either AP or UPI titles. But, there were national championships awarded prior to 1936. Bama has at least five more titles using the criteria in effect at the time. You just can't overlook championships because the AP and UPI weren't around.

You can if your sole purpose is to discredit a program so that the one you support doesn't appear so inadequate.

That means an under talented, underachieving team was beating your "peoples champ" at half time (end of the game is all that matters. Still that does not say much about Aubrun and still do not understand why you contiue to point out personal opinion and not fact's about Bama's NC's.) You may not always troll here and you are usually respectful, but you sure as hell are trolling now.

Threads like this makes me miss being home in Alabama even more.

Why is it Barners forget their "People's National Championship"?

And why start a thread that says why do you think y'all have lost 6 in a row to AU? Simple common sense.......Y'all have been better than us for 6 years. I realize trying to tell a Barner to have common sense is like asking the Pope to drink some Hooch with you, but I thought I'd give the Barners and common sense thing a shot.

As for the Recruiting Class means a NC again Barners common sense...EVERY media outlet except for ESPN had us with the number one recruiting class which normally means your team is on the rise. If I was a Barner I would be upset too, to think that while THE only UNIVERSITY in Alabama was recruiting dang near every good player in the state my Cow College wasn't recruiting anybody outside the mental ward. And to think Barners y'all's coach gave up on trying to compete with Saban in recruiting he went duck hunting.

Now go back to your cow palace and get to milking.

Cory

AU has won six straight because of having more quality athletes and consistency in the program. AU still has more talent this year but with another top 10 signing class things should flip flop.
