🏈 Why do certain fan bases seem to think Saban to... Notre Dame?

I don't know if any of yall are having to put up with this, but all I have heard the past few days is how Coach Saban is gonna bolt for Notre Dumb after this year. Strange thing is, is that it only seems to be Barners and LSWho fans saying this garbage. I wonder why, jealous much? I mean who could blame Coach Saban for wanting to get out of our low level program we call the Alabama Crimson Tide, when he could go to a "real" university like the Notre Dumb Fighting Irish? Sarcasm off lol. :a:

Meyer to ND is a real possibility. Miles would run to Michigan if given half a chance. Auburn has a coach that nobody outside of the high school ranks would want.

Saban to ND is not a realistic possibility. He is not an alumnus and has no ties to the school. It comes with built in challenges that don't exist in the SEC, and unlike Meyer, it is not Saban's "dream job."

Alabama did a complete overhaul of the AD for Saban. He has everything he has asked for and more. He is older than Meyer, and has expressed repeatedly that he does not want to move again.

The simple reason for the banter by our rivals...wishful thinking. They know that Saban is turning Alabama back into the power that it once was. As long as he is here, Alabama will be a power, and with the talent he is stockpiling, Bama will be a power for quite some time.

I had a couple of barners that i work with try to tell me the same thing....lol
I guess its just wishful thinking on their part and if we was to lose CNS it would give them a real chance of beating ouus in the Iron bowl in the years to come.

I understand how Meyer is a MUCH greater possibility of being Notre Dame's coach than Coach Saban. However, I don't think he will go. He has a great program going at Florida with his main rivals struggling, and one of the best recruiting hot beds in the country. Meyer is definitely one of the top 2 coaches in the SEC, and probably the country, so I wouldn't mind if he bailed out of Florida tbh.

Next year, Florida will lose about 3-4 games in my opinion. Tebow will be gone along with some key guys on D. There offense is already on the downhill slope as is. I would never say never because we all know anything can happen. But if I was Urban, and the money was right, what does he have to lose ? It is a private school so they don't have to release what he will make right ? I mean, they offer him $6-7 million a year, you don't think he will jump ? Shhhiii...... money is the key to the situation I assure you.

If most Bama fans were honest with themselves, they'd admit when Saban left LSU for Miami they didn't mind seeing the move. Not so much because of who they hired, but because of who left.

He was a guy that you didn't like seeing on their sidelines, but you knew he had a hell of a program running.

It's no different now.

I've said all along. If he stays five years and leaves, so what?

notre dame is a step down from any major program in my opinion. with the academic standards they have, they've backed themselves into a vanderbilt sized hole, yet they expect to beat OSU and meeshigan every year. not going to happen. they will struggle to get 10 wins for the rest of their existence.

I repeatedly run into "Myers is ND's first choice" with "Brian Kelley a very welcome fall-bak candidate".

Grain of Salt needed here with respects to Auburn and LSU. Question: What is the one this that could most quickly aid these programs? Answer: Get rid of Bama's current dominating coach.

Besides, I'm too upset that Ben Tate did not choose Ingram as the best back in the state. Ruined my day.

I think we had the five year discussion...I agreed then wholeheartedly. Both of us knew what he would do in five seasons at Alabama. It has taken years for Miles to unravel Saban's LSU team, and Miles is one of the most incompetent coaches in the FBS. If Saban leaves in 2 more seasons, a good, solid coach should be able to keep the ball rolling. Who knows...By the time Saban leaves, Joey Jones might be ready...or some as of yet unknown future coaching great.

Considering what he's done launching the program at South Alabama in his first year?

He's got a BIG future ahead of him in the collegiate ranks the way it looks so far.

I agree completely.

USA had an amazing first year...and I gotta give props to my man USA Defensive coordinator Coach Bill Clark. Coach Clark was an assistant at Piedmont when I played there, and he is a Piedmont native. He had just graduated from JSU when he got the job as an assistant at PHS.

Assuming he hasn't changed in all these years, he is one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet.

edit:

While it may not sound like much, I think USA would compete for, if not win, the D3 national title right now. For a team in its very first season, that is a pretty amazing statement.
