ACC Media aren't sold on Cards

Underdogs? Cards can claim that role now. In a poll of 148 media voters at ACC Media Day, Louisville was picked fifth out of seven teams in the Atlantic Division.

The Cardinals didn't receive a single vote to win the ACC title - Clemson got 139 of the 148 votes with Miami, NC State, Florida State and Virginia Tech each getting nods from media voters.

Louisville also didn't get a vote to win the Atlantic Division with Clemson notching 145 of the 148 first-place votes, Florida State landing one and NC State garnering two. The Cardinals were picked fifth in the Atlantic, behind Clemson, Florida State, NC State and Boston College.

Miami was picked to win the Coastal Division, garnering 122 of the 148 first-place votes. Virginia Tech was second.

Louisville plays two teams from the Coastal Division this season, third-place Georgia Tech and seventh-place Virginia.

Game makes me a bit nervous. Local, regional and national talking heads have basically written off Louisville and penciled in a Bama win. I think Petrino is a despicable human but a good offensive coach. I look for them to try and get the ball out quickly to negate the defensive front and try and challenge the DBs in space. Couple that with the usual slow start that Bama seems to produce in these games and it may be a bit closer for a while than some think. JMO.

reminds me of aTm with Manziel. one trick pony. but that one trick pony was enough to push the limits of what Saban's defensive scheme could handle. There is certainly the possibility of a long day for our defense keeping up with their QB.

But I would think that their defense is signing up for a longer day trying to stop the more balanced approach Alabama should have on offense.

First games always make me nervous. There's a lot of hype on both sides regarding how good each team could be. Alabama will have better players, but how good will the defense be? Alabama should win big. But, things don't always go as planned.

I will never be sold on anything that involves Petrino... but with that said, I don't see it being a complete blowout. That air-raid style is going to put a ton of pressure on a young defense, regardless of QB. I think Bama pulls away in the fourth, though.

Gonna be hard for them to match up talent wise. They will come out guns blazing try to stretch us and keep us off balance ala Utah 08/Texas AM--Johnny football... and such....Here is what I expect to happen...Bama is gonna come out use the run to set up the pass get up a couple of scores and lean on them in the second half and grind them into dust...Now im not being disrespectful towards the Cardinals but imo they just dont have the horses. Now could they come out and catch us slipping?Of course...Its football....BUT! Sabans had a whole off season to dissect, analyze and scheme..I fully expect us to be more than ready.
