It seems to happen in every conference, every year. There's usually one "elite" team that simply doesn't meet expectations and ends up with more losses than predicted and fewer wins than predicted. Of the following elite teams which one will be the "chosen one" this year?

Georgia, Florida, LSU & Auburn.

I will hang up and let y'all discuss.

I'll say Georgia or Florida. Both teams have so much hype around them, their bound to screw up at some point.

I think it could be the Barn because of the twin problems of a brand new, very different offense and inexperience at QB. LSU will have inexperience there as well, but their offense is much more close to the vest than the Barn's. Georgia is loaded talent wise. Even with a brutal SEC schedule they should have enough to be close to expectations.

Georgia - Tough SEC schedule mixed in with high expectations. It's going to take a very LSU luck type of season for them to make it to the NC game

Auburn - Like mentioned before, the QB situation might hurt them combined with a new OC. They will be running a up tempo offense and i believe they will feel it come November....They are saying they will wear out the opponent, when i think they are wearing themselves out in the long run!

Georgia
Losses: Alabama, Florida
Swing Games: ASU, South Carolina
Record: 9-3, but could easily be an 8-4 team having to go across the country to ASU. Could have a couple of tough SEC games depending on how the Barn and Tennessee look.

Florida
Losses: Tennessee(?)
Record: Could have an undefeated season until we meet them in Atlanta  . Although, I do believe they will slip up somewhere along the way. Possibly @ TN, USCe, or LSU depending on how they are playing at that point of the season. I'll go with 11-1.

LSU
Losses: Florida, South Carolina, Georgia,Alabama
Swing Games: Auburn, Arkansas
Record: 8-4 at best. I believe Ole Miss, and @ Arkansas at the end of the year are also possible losses.

Auburn
Losses: Tennessee, West Virginia, Georgia, Alabama
Swing Games: Mississippi State, Arkansas, Ole Miss
Record: 7-5. They have a six game stretch of Miss St., LSU, Tennessee, Vandy, Arkansas, and West VA. I say they come out of that 3-3, and then they have to finish the year with Georgia and in T-Town. We've got to beat these guys, and I don't have any doubt in my mind we will.

Obviously, anything short of a NC for the Dawgs this season will be a disappointment, I just don't see them making it there. Florida will be the best team in the SEC in my opinion. LSU will be a letdown, but I haven't expected too much from them since Perrilloux was booted. I think if we have a good season, it will make Auburn look that much worse at the end of the year. This is, of course, if we beat them. So when it is all said and done, I think Alabama's success will make Auburn that much more of a letdown.

LSU loses at au, at UF, at SC, to UGA, to Bama, and may have fallen so far in the tank by then that they also lose to UM.

Don't forget a new DC. AU will either finish 10-2 in regular season, or 8-4.

i think Georgia is overrated, they wont be as good as most ppl think (national champions) and Auburn will be as good as their offense is. if Burns fails, they fail.

Man, say a prayer we can win 3 games this year.

With that mildly retarded coach of yours, you won't need our prayers. He just has that special something.
Just kidding w/ you Scotch, but Miles is a power-tool!

Could be AU due to the new offense and defense like said above. But, I am going to go with Florida as a lock for the biggest letdown. Any team with a QB that skips around the field is bound to be over-hyped.

I know it is cool to hate on Tebow, but count me out of that fad. I love the guy. If I had a daughter, he could date her. I'd let him dog-sit for me any day. Hell, I'd buy the kid a steak dinner if I could. Most of all, I wish he represented UA. God bless Tebow!(as if he needed God's blessing) :D

You meant he could date your son, right.

I can see Georgia not meeting expectations, but LSU should lose about 4 games next year. I don't think anyone expects them to win the SEC and compete for the NC though. Florida could very well be in trouble on defense also. Watching a Michigan team expose them last year tells me they're not too solid.

Considering we are starting an unproven QB I highly doubt we will fall short of our expectations -- in other words there aren't huge expectations. We will more than likely lose 2-3 games at least, but I do not think our expectations are high since we have to go to Auburn and Florida. I highly doubt LSU collapses at all considering how strong the offensive and defensive lines are.

True, you may have some questions at the lead positions, but the cupboard is not bare everywhere else...that's for sure.
