I read most of it and what I took away from this is two or three things.
1. He is trying to play games and say "we're a year away" when what he's saying is that he thinks he has the talent right now to compete with us and maybe even beat us.
2. He actually thinks he is a year away and is already making excuses.
3. He's trying to get Saban to take it easy on him.

I hope Saban shows them how they really "measure up" to an elite program.
