🏈 What type of QB would you like like to see?

Imagine Jamarcus Russell(the arm) looks up and sees Julio Jones in Man to Man coverage with no saftey help.......then he checks the play at the line....Julio does a quick five..fake to the outside then post.......

My wishlist for the near term future.

1. (As mentioned before) a QB that can get the ball to a wide open guy. I don't care if the receiver has to stop or even run back to the ball.

2. A QB who doesn't stare down a receiver from the time he breaks the huddle.

3. A QB who will survey the line of scrimmage prior to the snap so he can see the defense obviously blitzing from one side or the other. Definition of obvious: When your football rookie wife/significant other screams at the TV "blitz! blitz!

4. A QB who, after recognizing the obvious blitz, will know how to check to a quick pass to the now vacated side, or quick hitter to the opposite side.

With the way the O-line played in the sugar bowl, I would say a mobile QB would be better suited.

In all honesty i would loved to have seen Matthew Stafford on the Alabama team. He has the tools to do everything and the running game could take pressure off of him and help limit mistakes and his overthrows etc.

However, if you think about this past year, a scrambler might have been beneficial given the line we had and the fact that Julio is soooooooo far above the rest of the receivers who played. Maybe a scrambler would have given us a new threat. And all you have to do is get Julio the ball on a slant of 5 yards and he will turn it into a 12 or 13 yard gain. In the near future though i would like to see a player who has the ability to make throws accurately and read defenses that is most important i think

As an added bonus, great hair like JPW. That kid got knocked all around the field against Utah and when he took off his helmet his hair was ready for pictures! :lol:

I like a mobile qb. Makes the DC on the other side think about things like qb draws and option plays. Even with a good OL there are times when protection breaks down. The guy with good feet still has a shot at making something happen. We don't necessarily need a Pat White, but having a few designed qb run plays, like draws, the read option and the old fashioned pitch option just give the other guys something else to consider, even if they aren't a big part of your playbook.

Olw Miss sure has a good one....Snead will play on Sundays without question. Im actually excicted about seeing McElroy play an entire game....My gut tells me he is going to do well.
